Will Forte is an American actor known for his ability to successfully portray comedic roles. From 2002 to 2010, he was a beloved cast member of Saturday Night Live. He was also the creator and star of the hit sitcom, The Last Man on Earth for its nine-season run.
In 2018, FOX decided to ax the show from their current on-air list. Since then, everyone has been wondering what actually happened to the famous comedian, producer, and screenwriter. Here is everything we know about Will Forte, post-Last Man on Earth.
What Would Have Been the Ending of The Last Man On Earth
FOX denied fans the much-anticipated ending of the show. Fortunately, Will Forte, being the show’s brilliant writer and showrunner, decided to reveal details about the ending. He explained the ending the show was supposed to have and described what would have happened if the show went on as planned.
Of course, the details that were shared were rather intriguing, to say the least. As it turns out, multiple masked individuals had hidden in a bunker while the virus wiped out the rest of humanity. Their ranks included but were not limited to, famous people along with a variety of medical experts and scientists who knew that when they were to get out of the bunker, the virus would have gone dormant – meaning that going back out would be relatively safe.
When the people from the bunker would discover Phil and his immune cohorts, however, a kidnapping would occur and all the ones that were outside and immune to the virus would then be placed into quarantine. The explication give for this supposedly rash action would be the fact that the immune would be a “real threat” to those who just emerged from the bunker – they assumed everything was dead, so they quarantined the ones who were immune to the disaster.

What Followed After His Hit Show
Right after the cancellation of the show, Will Forte knew that it was time to move on. With the pace of his career, there was simply no time to sulk about the show’s lost potential. He would move on to work on other cinematic pieces, some of which included some major roles.
The multi-talented Forte managed to claim his role as Doug Kenney, the National Lampoon magazine co-founder and writer on Netflix’s film, A Futile and Stupid Gesture. Playing the role of Doug was no easy feat, as it was the main role of the comedy-drama biographical masterpiece.
His Other Notable Work
The Last Man On Earth and A Futile and Stupid Gesture are some of Will Forte’s major roles. But he has also been known to be a true supporter of the Wampler’s Kids camp. He even recorded a promotional piece for the camp at SNL with Will Ferrell. This is mainly because Will Forte and Steven Wampler were both extremely close childhood friends.
Another notable fact about Forte is that he was also the previous national spokesman for SciEyes. SciEyes is a non-profit organization made for the purpose of supporting scientific research of all kinds. This includes training the future generation in STEM-related fields, as well as public education in stem cell biology. The organization was created to also aim to further the field by recognizing and supporting the potential for finding new therapies for blinding and debilitating eye diseases.

Will Forte’s Personal Life After The Last Man On Earth
Family is so important, even when you’re a busy celebrity, and Will Forte is known for being a family man. His mother has been to every single set where Will Forte worked. She even made an appearance on the Saturday Night Live show on a mother’s day episode. He also prepared a beautifully written song, which he sang to her lovingly.
But while many people were wondering just what Will Forte was planning to do after the cancellation of his show, most did not expect him to enter an engagement with Olivia Modling, whom he met in only 2018.
In the end, even if his beloved show was canceled before it could have a proper end, Will Forte managed to move on relatively quickly, and life continued to be good for him. From his other roles to his non-profit work, it is obvious that he is resilient, and he shows admirable motivation to keep advancing his career now more than ever.
