The pandemic has been a stressful time for many. However, this has pushed some of us to be more resourceful and find new ways of making money. As much as it has had an impact on the economy, there are opportunities that sprang from this pandemic. Whether you decide to capitalize on them or not, there are some opportunities that are always open for those who are ready to do the work. Let’s take a look at a few home working side gig ideas you can use to supplement your income during this pandemic.

Sell Masks

If you’re good with the sewing machine, then you could consider making custom masks and selling them. You could make them in bulk and sell them wholesale to local shops in your idea. Or you can contact some and ask if you can sell your masks on consignment. Another option would be to sell them online on a site like Esty.

Look for Online Gigs

There are tons of small jobs available that you can do from your computer if you know where to look. Some of the jobs include data entry, virtual assistant, or editing/writing jobs.

As a virtual assistant, you might be asked to do anything from sorting emails to handling customer service or even research for content. Writing can also be a good way to make money quickly, as long as you have the basic skills. Some of the best places to find writing work include Freelancer.com, the ProBlogger Job Board, and even Craigslist.

Learn How to Trade

Now would also be a great time to start to learn how to trade shares. It isn’t as complicated as many imagine and once you start learning how to read charts and how to use technical indicators like the RSI and Stochastic, you will already have much of the information needed. There are also many ways that you can hedge your risks when trading as a beginner. You can decide to shadow someone else through copy trading for instance. Or you could start by demo trading with pretend money until you feel confident enough to trade for real.

Work as a Translator

If you know a second language that is in high demand, know that there is tons of work available for translators. Some of the most in-demand languages include Spanish, French, and German. There is also demand for lesser-known languages like Swahili, and the supply of qualified translators is limited. You could be asked to translate, edit, and proofread documents. You can also make very good money from side income gigs as a translator as long as you keep looking for contracts.

Online Tutoring

A lot of students are in need of help at the moment, and this could be your opportunity to work as an online tutor. You’ll have the chance to either work with groups or individual students. This is a great option if you already have a formation in a certain field of expertise.

These are all great options if you want to earn some extra money during this pandemic. The good news is that most of them demand little to no investment and can be started on any budget.
