It’s the summertime and everybody wants to be fine. But dieting can be tough, especially with so many delicious food options available. If you’re a foodie but still want to lose weight before summer is over, keep reading; and if you’re still contemplating the validity of this article, keep reading as well. If you follow this plan verbatim you will see results.
I took on an all-liquid diet for two weeks prior to my gastric sleeve surgery. It helps shrink the liver so it is easier to flip back to gain access to the stomach during surgery. However, I will admit that it was the second most challenging experience I’ve ever endured. Your will power has to be at an all-time high; you definitely have to want it.
The Liquid Diet
- 5 Protein Shakes a Day (Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon, Dinner, and Evening)
- Jello (sugar-free)
- Sugar-free Gatorade
- Sugar-free popsicles
- Crystal Light or Mio
- Broth (Chicken, Beef or Vegetable)
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
The number one key to losing weight is hydration. Your body needs the fluids to pass the food, keep your organs going, and fuel you throughout the day. You can’t function correctly without water, it’s so essential. Make sure you’re getting in at least 64 ounces a day, but depending on your weight, you will more than likely need more.
Staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining a healthy weight and overall well being. Without sufficient fluids, your body can’t efficiently digest food, support vital organs, or sustain energy levels. That’s where the Lasta app comes in handy with its water tracker feature. By using the app to monitor your hydration status and set personalized goals, you can ensure that you’re getting enough fluids to support your weight loss journey and optimize your health. With helpful reminders and easy-to-use tools, the Lasta app is a valuable addition to any wellness routine.
Quick Weight Loss
Initially, it was very hard to transition from solid foods to liquids, especially because I was not a fan of the broths. But once I started to see results my mentality changed. Every day I was losing a pound a day and that motivated me. It was like magic to me, I couldn’t believe it was happening so fast.
Weigh Yourself Before
Before you begin, weigh yourself so that you have a starting point to reference. This will let you know exactly how much you’ve lost after the 14 days are up. Disclaimer: Some people will lose less and some will lose more, it’s all about a person’s body and how thoroughly they follow the plan. But please take into consideration that everybody is different, so don’t be discouraged if you lose weight, and the number isn’t exactly 15 lbs.
Stick to the Plan
It is imperative that you stick to the plan. If you truly want to lose weight there is no cheating involved, you have to do exactly what the plan requires and nothing more or less. Results will only show if you are doing your part. After a while I grew tired of the sugar-free after taste and wanted something salty like chips or a pickle, so my “Bari-Angel” A.K.A Mentor suggested pickle juice, which fit perfectly into my regimen because it is a clear sugar-free liquid, after that, I was drinking it daily!
Don’t Weigh Yourself Daily
I will admit I weighed myself daily, but it’s not something I would recommend. You begin to obsess over the scale and your weight, which is essentially setting you up for failure. Why? Because if you’re stagnant the next day or have gained a pound then all of that hard work and strong will have been in vain to you in your brain. Try to only weigh yourself once a week, the numbers will still be there waiting for you.
Praise the Small Victories
The first step has been taken in deciding to make a change in your life for the better. You want to lose weight and feel better about yourself. A healthier lifestyle is something you desire; Whatever the case may be, give yourself some credit and celebrate the small victories. Any amount of weight shed is commendable. It isn’t easy shedding pounds. There was cake or icecream around you and you didn’t have any, as tempting as it was, you go girl! Because you didn’t eat all of that sugar you’ve now added another pound of weight loss to your list.
Watch Your Body Transform!
15 lbs in 14 days sounds like a scam but I couldn’t believe it myself, that is until I looked in the mirror on that 14th day and saw that my double chin was on the decline. Oh happy day! Everyone around me could see it in my body, but I couldn’t and still can’t; the only way I can now is feeling it through my clothes as they fit differently. I’ve now dropped a cool 30 lbs! But not from the liquid diet! Please don’t try the diet for months on end, this should aid in a reset to get you on track for healthier eating and lifestyle as you transition back into solids. After the 14 days, I began eating healthier and much smaller portions at the request of my nutritionist and surgeon as my pouch (stomach) is now as small as a balled-up fist.
