Self-love is so important and ideally we already love ourselves. (If not, we should!) That being said… there is always room to improve and allow ourselves to feel and look better and healthier.
Below we found some ways to get your dream body and be more confident overall:
Look back at it
Confidence begins with us feeling good. We can achieve that by developing our body in ways that make us more confident in our own skin. A common goal is to develop a bubble booty. Your booty is a part of your body that you can ‘look back at’ and really see your progress, while also being a major confidence booster for many. You can find great bubble booty workouts available through apps and websites, such as helpful 30 Day Fitness app, and really see and feel your results.
Allow yourself to indulge, but not too much.
Strict diets that don’t let you ‘live and let live’ are not sustainable for many people and can cause a lot of stress around food. So consider what works best for you and how you have successfully committed to habits in the past. It is definitely worth trying allowing yourself to indulge, but not too much. This gives you the ability to find a balance in your eating ways, but not restrict yourself to the extent of stressing yourself out with food.
Don’t look at the scale
Many people find that they have a love-hate relationship with the scale. While it is nice to be able to track your progress, avoid the scale while you are working on getting your dream body. Weight can fluctuate for a number of reasons, from water weight, to your digestion, to the development of muscle and the loss of fat. You can track progress in so many other ways, such as how you feel, improved health, how much weight you are lifting, and the development of muscles and tone in your body.

Practice yoga
Yoga is an effective way to improve flexibility, posture and strength, while also benefiting your mind as it has such a focus on breath-working and tuning into your body. There are many different types of yoga that you can try, though one of the most common types you’ll see taught in classes in the West is Hatha yoga, which focuses on aligning and calming your mind, body and spirit.
Don’t follow fitness models on Instagram
Instagram can be a platform that one uses for inspiration and staying connected, but it is also a platform that is too often a backdrop for comparison. It is so important to not compare yourself to fitness models on Instagram while on your own health and fitness journey. It is recommended to not follow fitness models on Instagram on general because of the simple fact that they are models. It is literally their job to be fit and model, and that is what they get paid for. If you are not a fitness model, it is rather difficult to have the time, money, or professional support to look a ‘certain way’.
Commit to yourself and your goals in a realistic way
While working towards your dream body, start with and maintain a commitment to your unique self. Your body type is unique, your body is unique, your time and energy is unique, and you are unique. Commit to yourself and your goals in a realistic way and you set yourself up for success. Do some reflection and consider what motivates you, how you know you approach habit creation, etc. Your health and fitness journey takes commitment and you want to set yourself up right and tune into yourself!
Whenever you can, go out for a walk
When you get a break from day-to-day responsibilities, make the most of it! For example, instead of sitting during lunch scrolling through your phone, get outside and get some movement in. A walk will benefit your physical health, help reduce stress, boost your daily activity levels, and bring you back to work refreshed. Movement is crucial, and most of the today’s work environments do not promote healthy habits for this. So it is up to you to get movement in whenever possible!
Watch what you eat
Food is ultimately nourishment, and the fresher the food and the less preservatives, the better and more nourishing it is. A helpful tip to remember when selecting healthy food options is to stick to the outside of the grocery store, where you’ll find fresh produce, meats, etc. It is also helpful to meal prep and plan to ensure you always have something healthy on hand and don’t throw together a meal when you are super hungry that is maybe not the healthiest.

Make sure you get enough sleep
Quality sleep is crucial for everyone. When you are working towards your dream body, you want to be extra sure that your body has time to rest and recover. You can workout and eat right, but if you aren’t getting quality sleep you will know and see it! So commit to getting quality sleep every night, even if that means changing up a few lifestyle habits. Some sleep tips include: turn off technology an hour before bed, stretch and mediate to calm your mind and body, talk with a loved one, and create your ideal sleep environment.
Using all of these tactics should help you achieve your goals of a dream body. The more you incorporate them into your daily routine, the more you’ll get associate them into just a part of your lifestyle as sustainable habits.
