Pete Davidson is very open about the many different women in his life. He has talked candidly about his past relationship with Ariana Grande and more recently, his current relationship with Kim Kardashian. But one woman who has always been there for him is his mother, Amy Waters Davidson. She is a kind-hearted and very supportive celebrity mother. Amy Waters Davidson’s Early Life
Amy Waters Davidson was born in the year 1969. Her parents were Peter and Rebecca Waters. Amy also has four sisters, Rebecca, Bridget, Margaret, and Tara. She was born and raised on the East Coast of the United States of America.
After graduating from high school, Amy Waters Davidson attended the College of Staten Island. She enrolled to study nursing at this college. This is also where she met her future husband who was studying history at the time. During this time she played a lot of sports. She was on the College of Staten Island’s women’s basketball team all throughout college.
Amy Waters Davidson and Scott Matthew Davidson would then get married in 1990. He became a firefighter in New York and she worked as a nurse at Xaverian High School (her son would later attend this school). In November of 1993, the loving couple would give birth to their son, Pete, who they named after Amy’s father. She has said that Pete and her father look a lot alike. Four years later, in 1997, the family of three became a family of four with the birth of their daughter, Casey.
Unfortunately, in 2001, Amy’s husband, Scott would die during the attacks on 9/11. He was on duty and responded to a call in the World Trade Center right before it was hit by the second plane. This devastated the Davidson family and turned Amy Waters Davidson into a single mother.
Amy Waters Davidson And Her Kids
Amy Waters Davidson clearly loves her kids very much. She is more often than not, very private, but when she does speak publicly it is often about how proud of her kids she is. Her daughter, Casey, is following in her mother’s footsteps and going into the medical field. Amy has posted several Instagram posts about how proud of her she is.
Amy Waters Davidson and her son, Pete Davidson, currently live together in a mansion in Staten Island that he bought for the two of them. He often jokes that they are now more like roomies and homies rather than mother and son. According to many reports, Amy is very supportive of her son’s different relationships. She apparently loved Ariana when they were engaged, and is now very supportive of him dating Kim Kardashian.
She Is Very Active On Instagram
While she is generally a private person, Amy Waters Davidson is still very active on Instagram. She posts a lot of family photos. Amy also posts a lot of very cute dog pictures. Several of her posts are for birthdays or holidays, with lots of baby photos of her kids mixed in with recent ones.
She also posts several announcements of projects that Pete is working on. For example, before The Suicide Squad came out she posted a movie poster for it. She did the same right before The King of Staten Island was released. Amy Waters Davidson also posted about how excited she was that his show was sold out at the Gramercy Theatre. Despite him being a huge star, she still posts about him and his accomplishments as often as possible, which is very sweet to see.
Amy Waters Davidson’s Support Of Her Son
Amy Waters Davidson has been the biggest supporter of her son Pete’s career in comedy and entertainment. Before he got onto the hit show Saturday Night Live, which would launch his career, he was doing stand-up shows around New York. Amy would drive him to all of his gigs and be there to support him throughout them. She has also appeared on Saturday Night Live several times with her son for various bits.
One of the most notable signs of unwavering support is her love and support for Pete’s movie, The King of Staten Island. This movie is a comedy-drama. It is a semi-autobiographical look into Pete’s struggle with mental illness and losing his father on 9/11. This movie obviously meant a lot to their whole family and it is really wonderful to see how much she supported him during his time making it.
Amy Waters Davidson is an incredible celebrity mom. She has been openly very supportive of her kids and family. While she is very private about many things, the one thing she is always public about is how much she loves her two children.
