You probably know the name Rosamund Pike. With opera singer parents, Caroline Friend and Julian Pike, this British actress seemingly has entertainment in her blood. Rosamund’s roles in Die Another Day and Gone Girl have brought her stardom. And while much is known about her, it’s Rosamund’s long-time boyfriend, Robie Uniacke, you may not be familiar with.

What Lead Rosamund to Robie Uniacke
The Gone Girl actress was involved in a few up and down romances before she met Uniacke. Rosamund was in a two-year relationship with English writer and actor Simon Woods. She was also engaged for a time to director Joe Wright before meeting Uniacke as well.
Rosamund and Robie Uniacke began their long-time relationship at a soiree they met at in 2009. The couple keeps many details of their relationship private. However, Rosamund often credits Uniacke with much of her success, saying once ‘I have a very clever partner who’s got a very astute mind and is very very well-read and articulate and ruthless about how something I do might play out on screen. My tendency is to identify with a character and imagine there is more on the page than there is. He’s quite good at putting a check on that.’
Who is Robie Uniacke
The much older Uniacke was born in the United Kingdom in 1961, Rosamund was born in 1979. He is a British businessman and mathematical researcher. From an early age, Uniacke was said to be drawn to math and highly talented at it. He received his education at Eton College in Windsor, England.
The well-learned Uniacke is said to be very fluent in Mandarin as well. Like Rosamund, he also was involved in a few unsuccessful relationships before finding his long-time partner.
Uniacke’s Rocky Relationships
Robie Uniacke was first married at the age of 22 to Emma Howard, who was 30 at the time. The couple has one son together, Robie Jonjo Uniacke. From accounts, the marriage was an unhappy one for both Uniacke and Howard. Many of their troubles stem from the couple’s heroin addictions at the time. Both would seek rehab.
Uniacke’s subsequent marriage was to Rose Batstone, an interior designer. Unfortunately, this marriage was short-lived as well. During their short marriage, the couple would have three children together; Hector, Olive, and Florence Uniacke.
After the two failed marriages, Uniacke would remain primarily out of long-term relationships till 2009, when he met Rosamund Pike.
Robie Uniacke’s Professional Life
After college Uniacke would start his business career working for multiple consultant and financial companies. He would go on to found an information technology company, Pale Fire Ltd., in 2010. Uniacke would serve on the companies director’s board.
Unfortunately for Uniacke, the company would struggle and go bankrupt before closing down in 2016. Prior to closing, investigators showed that he failed to pay taxes to Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, HMRC, in the amount of $250,000.
It was also found that Uniacke was taking large sums of money from his company’s account to fund his personal financial needs. He would admit the act and was subsequently fired from his director’s position at his company. It is estimated that Robie Uniacke has a net worth of around $500,000.
Uniacke and Rosamund Find a Lasting Bond
Both Robie Uniacke and Rosamund Pike struggled through unsuccessful relationships before finding each other. With over ten years together, the couple seems to have finally found the lasting bonds they were looking for. Rosamund was seemingly drawn to the older man from the beginning, even claiming he was ‘the most interesting person I’ve ever come across.’
The happy couple has two sons together, Solo Uniacke, born on May 6, 20012, and Atom Uniacke was born on December 2, 2014. Even with a growing family, the couple does not seem to be in a hurry to marry. Both seem to enjoy breaking away from traditions and norms, with Rosamund having said she finds it interesting to be having a child without being married first. Uniacke, who has been married twice previously, has been seen out in public wearing T-shirts with sayings such as “marriage is gay” written on them.
Uniacke is also considered a sinophile who speaks Chinese to his children more than any other language. The couple’s older son, Solo, was said to understand Chinese characters as young as the age of four!
