When fans hear the name Noah Munck they automatically think of his breakout role as Gibby in the hit Nickelodeon show ICarly. However, while he may have started out as a child star, Noah Munck has done so much in his career since he grew up. In fact, he partially resents his time as Gibby as it created a lot of problems for him in his personal life.

Noah Munck’s Early Life And Schooling

Noah Munck was born in May of 1996. He was born and raised in Orange County, California. Noah has four younger siblings making him the oldest of five. From a young age, he had such incredible comedic timing which landed him the role of Gibby on ICarly in 2007. He also had appearances on other popular children’s shows. Some of the most popular shows he appeared on included Wizards of Waverly Place in 2008 and Phineas and Ferb in 2009.

Noah Munck was interested in acting at a very young age. Throughout filming ICarly, he was homeschooled and taught on set for the majority of his life. He did physically attend a private high school his senior year. He went to one semester of college. Noah was a cinema and media arts major at Biola College before deciding college was not the right path for him. He has also donated money to Camp Del Corazon. This is a charitable summer camp for kids who have heart disease.

Noah Munck On ICarly

In 2007, the popular show, ICarly, first started airing on Nickelodeon. The show was instantly a hit. Noah Munck played Gibby Gibson on the show. Originally he was supposed to just be in one or two episodes of the show. However, he was so popular with fans and producers of the show that he quickly became a series regular. He was a crazy and somewhat dumb character. Eventually, Noah’s little brother was also acting in the show. He played Gibby’s little brother, Guppy.

Gibby in earlier seasons would often take off his shirt. Noah Munck stopped doing this as seasons went on. Noah’s character, Gibby, was a bit of a punching bag on the show. He was often the butt of the joke. One of the main characters, Sam, would bully him nonstop, sometimes violently. Noah Munck has a natural gift for comedy which made him very funny in this role. However, this role made his life outside of ICarly difficult.

Why He Has A Complex Relationship With Gibby

Noah Munck was a child when he started acting. Unfortunately, his age did not stop fans from harassing him. When people saw him on the streets they would shout at him to take off his shirt and tell him to dance for them. Some fans even jumped on his back. He could not walk around without people shouting “Gibby” at him. He also saw lots of cruel comments online about his looks and weight. This is incredibly damaging for anyone, but especially a young child.

Things got worse when shirtless pictures of him from the show were posted on a pornographic site. This site was for people with fat boy fetishes. His parents found this due to a google alert they had set up.

Noah Munck is also thankful for the role of Gibby. After all, this role kickstarted his creative career. But it is understandable why he might partially resent the character. This role left him exposed to a lot of creepy and downright mean behavior. It left him open to being treated as if Noah actually was Gibby. It is no surprise that Noah Munck did not want to revisit this role in the recent ICarly reboot.

What Has Noah Munck Done Since Nickelodeon

He is currently acting as a recurring character named “Naked” Rob Smith on the hit show, The Goldbergs. This show was recently renewed for a tenth season. Fans love Noah Munck’s portrayal of Rob Smith in the himbo-filled Jenkintown Posse (JTP). He is a very kind character who is thoroughly loyal to his friends and very funny. While he enjoys acting, it is not his only or even main passion.

Similar to some other former Nickelodeon stars, like Ariana Grande, Noah also has a music career. Noah Munck has been making music since he was fifteen years old. He started with dubstep back when it was popular, but has leaned more into rap music in recent years. He has released music under the name NoxiK. However, most of his music is on Soundcloud under the name SADWORLDBEATS. He also has a YouTube channel called Sadworld. On this, Noah Munck makes sketches and weird edits involving his music.

Being a child actor can be really difficult and incredibly taxing on one’s mental health. It is completely understandable why Noah might not want to be solely associated with his character, Gibby. Luckily, Noah Munck has been able to do so much since this childhood role. He has continued acting and even successfully broadened his horizons to music and producing.
