Moon Bloodgood does a great job at playing Katherine and keeps us intrigued. The character has so many memorable moments on the show, and we outline the top seven below.
The Way She Helps Certain Cases

Agent Hanna, who is played by actor LL Cool J, tells her they have everything under control. Casillas becomes a favorite right there when she responds, “No offense, but you two are in over your heads.”
They decide to keep her on and she actually becomes useful in the case.

Even though he says no one is allowed to use it, when Katherine asks to take it for a spin, he gives it to her. Sam immediately responds with, “she’ll appreciate it”, but fans are hoping it’s more.

Her Job Is Useful To The Agents
Another memorable aspect of Katherine is that she is a professional Insurance broker. Being an insurance agent is how she originally met Sam and Callen, in the first episode with the missing painting. Since Katherine, is an insurance broker they tend to need her for certain cases like the investigation of the theft of an undersea drone prototype.
This was in episode seven called “Concours D’ Elegance. The prototype they believe is linked to a video game streamer’s party, which Casillas ensures the gamer’s property and possessions.
Joins In On The Car Chase
Katherine joins Sam on a car chase during the auction after they began shooting. Instead of running to safety, she joins him in the car, she says she is not taking her eyes off the stolen car since she is the insurance agent of the owner. This shows how badass she is, since instead of just going home in the shootout she joins in on the epic car chase with Sam, possibly impressing him.
Has Many Redeeming Qualities
After it was revealed that Katherine Casillas was on the board for the search engine company. An employee for the tech company revealed that Katherine had helped put a team of people together to take a low bid from China and provide a search engine that didn’t actually work the way it was supposed to. It shows the cast that she’s trustworthy and is helpful.
Aside from this, Casillas also is very involved with her clients as we’ve seen on the show. The two times they’ve now bumped into her have been with cases that involve her clients. Even though there are only so many storylines they can do with an insurance broker, Moon Bloodgood keeps us excited to see this character more.
Moon Bloodgood Plays Her Well
Lastly, she is memorable because the actress Moon Bloodgood plays her character in such a likable manner. One scene she does well in is when Sam drops by Katherine’s house and they have a flirty exchange. He asks Katherine if the drink in her hand is for him, she says that it depends. “You don’t make anything easy do you,” he says, “nope” she responds.
Sam begins to win her over when he tells her he’s been looking forward to seeing her all day, she smiles and holds the door open for him. This scene hints that the feelings people hoped for the characters are there.
