Born on December 11, 1994, in Los Angeles, California, Alexa Demie is relatively new to Hollywood but is already making a big name for herself. Alexa Demie Wilson Vanerstrom was born to make-up artist Rose Mendez from Michoacan, Mexico, and Scott Wilson Vanerstrom. Vanerstrom was the stepson of Dennis Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys. Alexa, who legally changed and shortened her name in 2019, inherited talents from both sides of her family and is a multi-talented actress, single, and designer. She is currently best known for her work on the HBO teen drama Euphoria.

The Euphoria star was finding international success while still in high school with Mainframe, her designer sunglasses line. Alexa would buy boxes of wholesale sunglasses then put her unique style on them with various jewels.
Originally being sold in Los Angeles on Melrose Avenue by a friend, Alexa’s Mainframe sunglasses line would blow up and become a major success around the world, especially in Asian markets. The glasses’ popularity skyrocketed when K-Pop superstar G-Dragon began wearing Alexa’s sunglasses. Other notable celebs to rock Alexa’s designer shades include Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj.
The Path That Could Have Been
Like her Beach Boy grandfather, music is Alexa Demie’s blood. The versatile actress has been writing music and poetry since she was 12-years old. Alexa would go on to release her first single, Girl Like Me, in 2016, proving Alexa is as talented on a mic as she is on screen.
The talented singer-songwriter almost walked away from acting to pursue a career in music. But, lucky for Euphoria fans, Alexa was offered the part of Maddy before closing the door on acting.

On the night Euphoria premiered on HBO, Alexa was in Tulum, Mexico, on a self-imposed phone-free and television-free vacation. Alexa is No Stranger to Risque Roles
Euphoria is far from Alexa’s first risque part. In 2018 she played the role of high school student Estee in Jonah Hill’s directorial debut Mid90s. The movie would stir up a bit of controversy in a scene that sees Alexa’s character and 13-year old Stevie, played by Sunny Slujic, having sex.
Euphoria and Mid90s are not Alexa Demie’s only film credits. She played the role of Shairee in the Showtime series Ray Donovan. Alexa had the role of Marina in the Netflix series Love and as Ingrid on The OA, which you can also check out on Netflix.
Her large-screen roles include the 2017 Dave McCory directed comedy movie Brigby Bear and the 2019 Trey Edward Shults directed drama Waves. In 2021 Alexa will be working alongside Andrew Garfield as Isabelle in the Gia Coppola-directed comedy-drama Mainstream.
Alexa Demie is How Old?
Alexa was born in 1994 or was it ’89, or maybe ’90. It’s hard to say with 100-percent certainty. Alexa was initially thought to be in her mid-20s. But, a 2008 list of graduates from John Marshall High School was released that had Alexa Demie’s name on it. That would put the actress into her early 30s. It is odd, but in no way takes away from her beauty and talent!
