When the new decade started, it’s safe to say that nobody expected the year that would unfold. Obviously, with every [new] year, there is an expectation of small tribulations; but there is always a glimmer of hope that these tribulations leave us with a new level of growth. When it comes to wellness, last year may have been the most direct in showing us [as a society] that spiritual wellness (or spirituality) was an essential part of getting through the year; and with every passing day, there were new influencers, specialists and communities being created. Suddenly, practices such as crystal healing and tarot became general knowledge; and to be a bystander in the midst of a spiritual re-emergence is one thing, but to be someone directly involved in this re-emergence is another.
In this part of #EnteringAutumn, we got to speak to spiritual wellness advisor & metaphysical geologist, Lynae (popularly known as Libramoonstone); who has used her platform to educate and encourage her followers to learn about the benefits of minerals, crystal healing, and spirituality [in general].
Full interview below.
Before we begin, would you like to introduce yourself?
I’m Lynae, I’m a multi-hyphenate but before everything else, I am a Holistic Practitioner & Metaphysical Geologist, which is a term that I coined for myself a while back!
I strive to help guide/lead others during their spiritual journey, [helping] people figure out the how’s & why’s of everything (especially minerals!). [Because]I specialize in minerals & mineral healing, I use a combination of the scientific and metaphysical benefits (like mineral composition & color psychology) of various minerals to educate, support, & heal others.
I’ve known about your platform for a little over a year now; and I still experience moments of awe when it comes to how insightful your knowledge is. May I ask, what attracted you to learn about this form of healing? Where did this journey start for you?
First off, that is incredibly kind and I’m honored that you feel that way, that’s truly my goal!
When I was about 6-7 years old, my mom was taking geology classes at the local community college & when the professor brought in various minerals I was so intrigued because, “What? Adults like to learn about rocks too?” From there, I joined the science club. I always gravitated towards the minerals when my parents would take me to the local metaphysical shop (which I still go to), and I was gifted my first Jade bracelet (which has been on for 12 years) when I was 13!
It’s been a culmination of things but it all led up to me pursuing it for educational purposes, from there I meshed what I knew/was learning within the Metaphysical realm, and here I am, a teacher yet still a student!
At the same time I found your platform, people were beginning to find an interest in spiritual wellness. What do you think kickstarted this?
I think Neptune entering Pisces has something to do with it.
[I think it started] once brands increased creating content & products surrounding things like Astrology [and] celebrities like Jhene Aiko & Bretman Rock [started] showcasing their crystals and noting their Astrological placements. I [also] think a lot of social media, specifically, Astro Twitter really kickstarted people exploring Astrology. People see it as a safe space, which it is; and feel like they can receive some guidance and answers within their lives.
I really started delving into my spirituality when I hit a rock bottom. I was able to get a lot more clear on my life and how I wanted to live it; it just so happened that I really started sharing around the beginning of the hype! So it’s definitely a collection of things, there are things like “Spiritual Tok” “Witch Tok” “Crystal Tok” which has a lot of unsupported information but has introduced a lot of people into this area of life.
With this sudden interest in things such as holistic healing, spiritual wellness, and metaphysics in general; how do you think this will influence our generation and the one coming after us?
I think overall, it will have a positive impact. People are being influenced to engage in things like shadow work, healthy communication, boundary setting, leading your life with confidence, and so much more; [and] so I believe it will be beneficial for the development of our generation and the one following. I already see so many people consciously breaking generational cycles with their families, especially their children. I think it’s beautiful.
Out of every practice spiritual wellness has to offer; most people gravitate towards crystal healing. Do you remember what your first crystal was?
Absolutely! Technically, it was a ruby ring that my father gave me when I was about 5. The crystal itself was a piece of Amethyst from my mother when I was about 8. I was very big into collecting minerals around that time so I was very grateful!

As someone who’s studied the properties of crystals; what are 3 ‘basic’ crystals you would recommend for someone just getting into it?
For the basics, I would definitely recommend Clear Quartz, Black Tourmaline, & Unakite.
Clear Quartz is super common and I think that’s great because it’s very multi-purpose. It’s known as a Master Healer which is very fitting. It’s a monoclinic crystal so it’s associated with amplification, manifestation, and increase (our strength, wealth, joy, stability, focus. It’s great to pair with most other minerals when you’re looking for an increase in something.
Black Tourmaline is so wonderfully protective, this is a mineral that I keep near my front door with a piece of Gypsum to strip me of any negative or stagnant energy that has attached to me so it doesn’t come with me into the house and to protect from any of that entering on its own. It’s definitely a mineral I keep with me when I’m engaging in deep shadow work or really want to keep myself grounded and focused in the moment & I think it’s beautiful!
Unakite is a lovely heart healing and balancing mineral. You have the pink feldspar that really opens the heart and creates a space of compassion & devotion and you have the green epidote which brings in that energy of healing and releasing. It really elevates and balances the emotional body.

What I personally love about crystal healing is that there is so much variety. As a seasoned crystal enthusiast, how would you recommend a beginner go about finding crystals?
I think it’s important to lead with your heart! Go into a shop and see what your body gravitates towards, place your hand over different minerals, and see how the temperature changes. More than likely, what you’re gravitating towards has properties that correspond to what you may need at the moment. For example, gravitating towards Red Jasper when you’re not feeling very grounded, or Blue Lace Agate when you’re not vocalizing your needs as much as you should.
Asking is always a good idea, I get so many DM’s daily about what people should look for/purchase so getting more insight from other people is never a bad idea if they can spare the energy.
Beginner sets are super fun, I actually used to sell them when I was making candles. I think that’s a good idea because you’re covering a lot of different bases (usually) within a specific theme like love, wealth, confidence, etc. And BOOKS! Reading is fundamental, I always recommend grabbing the Crystal Bible (there are three books, I believe) by Judy Hall.
Because spiritual wellness is such an energy-based industry; how have you learned to you maintain yours?
[In the past] I was not great at setting that personal boundary. I allowed myself to blur the line between work and rest and that was not okay. There are days where I stumble a bit, but I do my best to not allow burnout.
I remind myself that I am my top priority: take naps when I need to, relax and eat when I need to, try to remove myself from my workspace when I’m on my breaks, and avoid engaging on social media so I can just enjoy my time. It can be hard, especially when social media is your work and your entertainment, to draw the line between engaging for fun and engaging for my analytics.
I don’t have a superset schedule, but I do like to make specific times for myself. I have work breaks where I remove myself from electronics but I clean, shower, etc. and I have rest breaks where I don’t work at all, so I think it’s important to find a schedule that works for you!

As we enter Autumn, a lot more people will begin to look for ways to keep their vitality strong. Are there recommendations you have for people who might need guidance making this transition from Summer to Autumn?
I personally think it’s good to keep the time change in mind, it can be hard to be productive when the sun is going down at 4:00 so possibly looking over your schedule/routine and figuring out how it can work better for you with the seasonal change. Keep your body moving, it gets colder so we may be outside less (also pandemic) but try to create stretch/exercise routines to do around the house to keep active. Lastly, pace yourself. We’re closing in on the year and I’m sure we want to end it right so I think reflecting over the past three quarters of the year, looking at what worked for you, what didn’t work, what needs to be removed. [It’s] like Autumn Cleaning rather than Spring.
I appreciate you for taking the time out to speak with the New York Gal community. Is there anything you would like to say to the readers or your supporters who may be reading?
Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts! Do the practices that work for you, you don’t have to work with every moon phase, retrogrades aren’t so bad, & stay hydrated!
