You wake up on Saturday and see a huge zit gracing your forehead. It wouldn’t matter if it were any other day. But you’ve finally snagged the guy you like and today is your first date. Yes, your personality matters, but you really want to nail your look and parade like a majestic peacock. And that zit is going to turn you into an anxious chicken all night. Luckily, it’s only 9 am, and your date is at 8 pm, so you have plenty of time to solve this issue with any of these good natural skin masks.
Don’t worry. You don’t have to search on Google all day to come across a facial mask recipe!
Here are five easy natural skin masks you can make to get rid of your acne!
1. Turmeric and Honey
Honey is a well-known anti-bacterial, while turmeric is critically acclaimed for its anti-inflammatory properties. The combination will be heavenly for your skin! Just mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric with 1 tablespoon of honey to form a paste and carefully glaze it on your face and make sure you get some on that annoying zit.
2. Aloe Vera and Turmeric
Besides getting paired with honey, turmeric works wonders with other ingredients as well, like aloe vera. Aloe vera is a succulent plant that’s rich in vitamins and antioxidants. It’s best used for repairing and soothing sunburnt skin and also for preventing wrinkles and fine lines. To access this plant’s healing effects, cut and wash an aloe vera leaf, then scoop up its pulp and put it in a blender.
Add half a teaspoon of turmeric and blend them to form a smooth paste. Brush it on your face with your fingers, and make sure to leave the mixture on for at least 10-15 minutes.
3. Oatmeal
You can eat oatmeal as part of your daily breakfast, but did you know it’s also suitable for topical application against acne? Oats are full of antioxidants, Vitamin E, B Vitamins, and minerals that calm skin eruptions.
The first step includes boiling half a cup of oats in a cup of water. (Use half a cup if you don’t have too many pimples and if you want to limit food waste). Let it cool for a while, or put it in the fridge for 5 minutes. Finally, massage the mixture on your face slowly as not to irritate your skin.
4. Banana
Bananas are packed with potassium, vitamins, and minerals. Vitamin B helps in reducing dryness, while potassium aids in hydration and increases moisture. Most often, acne and cysts worsen because of excessive dryness and poking or playing with them. Though bananas can do the trick to moisturize your skin, if you see inflammation coupled with redness and pain that’s growing and filling with pus, it might be time to consider contacting a dermatologist for cyst removal.
For your banana facemask recipe, get a medium-sized banana and mash it up into a paste, then gently apply it to your face. Let it sit on your face for a while, about 10 minutes, then rinse it off with water.

5. Yogurt
As with oatmeal and banana, yogurt is also a topical solution for your skin outbreaks. Packed with protein, Calcium, and vitamin B12, it’s bound to rejuvenate your skin in a flash. You can mix a teaspoon of yogurt with one teaspoon of aloe, leave it on your face for about 5 minutes, and witness the refreshing results yourself!
