More and more celebrities are making a trend of making their political affiliations known. Some have even gone ahead to donate to campaigns to offer their public support to their favorite politicians. However, it is not often that one shifts entirely from the entertainment scenes to pursue a career in politics. Skandar Keynes is one actor who was bold enough to make that transition.

He reprised the character Edmund in Prince Caspian and later played the same role in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third installment of the series The Chronicles of Narnia.
For his final project in the film industry, Keynes contributed his voice for the audio project In Freedom’s Cause as Si. Allan Kerr. Keynes officially announced in 2016 that he had quit his acting career. He revealed that he had taken up a role as a parliamentary adviser to member of British parliament Crispin Jeremy Rupert Blunt.
His Political Career
In some ways if you look at it, the entertainment scene is not so different from the political scene – logistics aside, they are all about pleasing the masses. Skandar Keynes was brave enough to make a radical shift from the entertainment industry and into the political arena.
Keynes quit acting to take up a role as a parliamentary adviser to Member of British Parliament Crispin Blunt. Crispin Jeremy Blunt is a British Conservative party politician. Blunt has served as Reigate’s Member of Parliament in 1997. He also became the Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Prisons and Youth Justice. Blunt replaced the MP, Sir. George Gardiner in The House of Commons when he was dis-elected.

Skandar Keynes joined Crispin Blunt’s team and became his political advisor. In 2015, Blunt was elected to be the chairman of the Foreign affairs Select Committee. Blunt held the post until 2017. In the same year, Blunt was elected as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Humanist Group. Blunt has also gained recognition as an honorary associate of the National Secular Society.
As an advisor to the MP Crispin Blunt, Keynes has gotten to attend various EU Summits and parliamentary meetings across Europe and other countries. Presently it is unclear whether Blunt is still working with Blunt but he remains politically active and constantly tweets about and supports causes aligned to Crispin Blunt’s work. It is safe to assume he is still very much involved with the MP.
Personal life
Presently, Skandar Keynes remains unmarried, he has however been involved in a lot of relationships over the years. He was first known to be in a relationship with Rebecca Swinton in 2005, however, the two broke up. He has later rumored to be dating American musician Tylor Momsen but none of them ever confirmed the rumors. There have also been unconfirmed rumors of him hooking up with a fellow English actress.
Speculation over his sexuality has arisen online with many people saying he is gay. Keynes has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. Since he has been known to date girls most of his life, it is safe to assume he is not gay.
Skandar Keynes continues to excel in his political career just like he did in his acting career. To many of us, he will always be the cute Narnia boy, Edward. We cannot wait to see what is in store for him in Politics.
