The 90s were a great time to be alive! Boy bands, Friends, the Spice Girls, and the beloved ABC network sitcom Boy Meets World all guided a generation toward the millennium. A lot of us had lives that took paths we didn’t think they would. The acting career of Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World definitely did not end up following a traditional course.

Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World
Boy Meets World was produced by April Kelly and Michael Jacobs for the ABC network. The show premiered in September of 1993 and would run for seven years, ending in May of 2020. The show followed the ups and downs life threw at Cory Matthews, played by Ben Savage.
During its sixth season, Maitland Ward would join Boy Meets World and remain a regular on the show for the rest of its run. In all, Ward would appear in 42 episodes.
A Closer Look at Maitland Ward
Maitland Ward was born Ashley Maitland Welkos on February 3, 1977. She has worked as a television actress, model and recently has begun appearing in pornography films.
She started her acting career at the age of 16 while still a Junior in High School. Ward’s first acting role was as Jessica Forrester on the CBS network soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. She would appear on the program from 1994 till 1996. From there, Ward would appear on the USA network sitcom USA High. From there, she had a role on the seventh season of the hit ABC network show Home Improvement.
In 1997 Maitland Ward would appear in her first film. She co-starred in the television movie Killing Mr. Griffin alongside Mario Lopez and Jay Thomas. Ward would join Boy Meets World in 1998 and remain on the show till it was canceled in 2000.
Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World would appear in a couple more movies after the show’s run came to an end. She was in the independent film Dish Dogs and then in the 2004 Shawn and Marlon Wayans’s comedy White Chicks.
Maitland Ward’s Journey to Porn
Ward would take some time away from acting but soon began cosplaying and making appearances at comic conventions around the country. Some of her more notable appearances include appearing dressed as slave Princess Leia, the character Jessica 6 from the cult classic film Logan’s Run, and the scantily clad warrior Red Sonja. Ward would continue to push her boundaries and thrill fans by appearing at conventions only wearing body paint.
In 2013, Maitland Ward began posing and posting topless pics of herself on Instagram and Snapchat. Unsurprisingly her follower numbers boomed! Around April of 2016, she would pose completely nude and post photos on her social media accounts being body painted for a Lost Angeles, California art exhibit called Living Art.
Ward Caught the Eyes of Hollywood Once Again
Along with a throng of new fans, director and porn actress Kayden Kross took notice of Ward and began to approach her to take the leap into adult films. Ward would say that she felt floored at the thought of doing adult films, but the young actress thought it would be an evolution and part of her journey of exploration and discovery.
In 2019 Ward announced on her Instagram account that she would indeed be appearing in her first adult film, Drive. The film would appear on the porn site Deeper in September 2019. Ward would state, “I just did it publicly for my fans, that is the exhibitionist style of me.”
On her transition into the adult film industry, Ward said she did not feel any type of stigma toward doing the movies and thought it to be a savvy business decision. She hoped that the new career bath would introduce her to a new wave of fans and promised: “more taboo stuff to come.” Definitely not one to disappoint, Ward would appear in several more adult scenes that were posted on the site Deeper.
Maitland Ward’s Husband
Ward was married on October 21, 2006, to real estate agent Terry Baxter. The couple is currently still happily married and lives in New York. Ward has studied screenwriting and writing at New York University.
Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World has taken a unique career path that even she seems to admit was unexpected. And while porn and adult films aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, it seems to work for her. She is certainly making others happy, and if she is happy herself, well, that’s all that matters!
