As women age, the natural contours of the face typically change. In particular, the lower face Is one of the main parts of the body that give us a woman’s age. The contours of the chin and jawline tend to sag because, as one ages, the skin around the mouth of the cheeks tends to loosen. When the skin sags around the lower part of the face just below the cheeks – this is typically referred to as jowls.

The good news is it is still possible to reverse the effects of this condition. That way you will be able to maintain a younger-looking face. People who are experiencing the early symptoms of jowls will really benefit from non-invasive procedures such as laser skin tightening or fillers.

Of course, more severe conditions will often require surgical intervention. But this is rarely the case for more mild cases that have just started to show up. That is why it is very important to treat this condition as early as possible. Doing so can prevent the condition from becoming more serious.

The Best Options Available to Women Experiencing Early Signs of Jowls

Fillers

Dermal fillers are the most common non-invasive treatment for jowls. These fillers can be injected directly into the soft tissue of the skin. They can restore the last volume reader to fill in lines and wrinkles. The results of this can be very dramatic.

The great news is that this procedure, even though they are slightly invasive, is very minimal in terms of pain. Furthermore, the recovery time for having fillers done is typically short. The only downside to fillers is that the results are not permanent but can last up to two years.

Thermage

Thermage is another great option for treating jowls. This procedure is a non-invasive laser-based tightening procedure that works to recontour the skin. This procedure allows for the transfer of radiofrequency energy to the deeper layers of the dermis. Then the skin firms up the elastin fibers and sagging collagen and even stimulates the production of new collagen.

This is a very good option for patients that are younger. What is particularly beneficial by this treatment is that even though it is laser-based, the damage it does to your skin is completely negligible.

CO2 Lasers

Treating this condition with CO2 lasers is also called Fraxel. It can be used to reduce the amount of skin surface using a couple of methods. First of all, the laser targets tissue and vaporizes tiny parts of the skin. Second, the heat transferred with this vaporization shrinks the remaining skin while stimulating the formation of collagen.

This is probably the most invasive town surgical treatment for this condition. So you should be sure that you consult your doctor before you would like to have this procedure done. It is more invasive than both fillers and Ultherapy. When used correctly, however, you can offer quick and very profound results when it comes to eliminating sagging skin with just a single treatment.

Collagen drinks

Perhaps the easiest and most non-invasive treatment for this condition of all is to simply take collagen drinks. Not only are collagen drinks effective for treating jowls, but they are also very effective when it comes to reversing the early signs of aging in general. You may not see the results as quickly as he would and other procedures, but this is the best option if you do not want to spend a lot of money treating this condition. This is the safest at least expensive way for you to make sure that the lower part of your face stays nice and young-looking while promoting beautiful skin.

Ultherapy

It is unlikely that you will find a list for treating this condition without finding Ultherapy anywhere on that list. Also, therapy is one of the most common non-surgical procedures for tightening and firming the skin through the stimulation of collagen production. It is different from the other laser-based methods because it actually uses ultrasound technology to achieve the tightening and firming of the skin. Even after a single session, most patients will already see some very positive clinical results.

This method is very popular because the vast majority of patients we use as a method for treating this condition experience extremely significant improvements around the neck and jawline and its positive effects last for almost a year.

These were some of the most effective ways you can treat jowls without having to go under the knife. Most doctors will tell you that surgery should only be the final option. If your jowls have not yet gone beyond the point where non-invasive procedures can be effective, there is no reason for you to risk going with more invasive treatments like neck lifts. Just follow these simple guidelines and you will be well on your way to looking younger than you have ever looked!
