Scott Barnes Cosmetics is definitely on our wish-list this year. The makeup brand is full of glitz and glamour, and it has all the tools to create a stand-out look.
The brand began in 2004 by releasing a 21 piece color cosmetic line on QVC. Scott Barnes then introduced products to high-end boutiques in the US and Canada before expanding to Europe and Australia.
Scott Barnes is a Celebrity Makeup Artist
Barnes has worked with a long list of Hollywood celebrities, but it is his work with Jennifer Lopez that truly stands out. Some of his other celebrity clients include Kate Hudson, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Penelope Cruz.
His signature ‘glow’ look used on JLO helped launch Scott Barnes Cosmetics’ best selling Body Bling bronzer product. He also was JLO’s makeup artist for that scene in Maid in Manhattan where she attends a ball in a stunning blush strapless dress, looking like a bronzed goddess.
Scott also created the makeup look for Jennifer Lopez at the 2020 Superbowl, which involved a 10-hour prep. We love that we are able to purchase from the iconic makeup artist and channel our inner JLO.

Scott Barnes Cosmetics offers a variety of beauty products from makeup palettes to lipsticks. We love the wide variety of shades of color for all different skin types. Also, the website has a section of favorites which includes a palette, brush, as well as a body lotion to give customers all the tools they need to look their best. What we don’t love is the price tag. These bundles start at well over $100.
Scott Barnes Cosmetics are cruelty-free, GMO-free as well as gluten-free so you can feel good about your purchase. Also, they offer a 1-year subscription to their VIP section allowing members first access to new products and a hefty 30% discount on all products year-round. However, this comes with a yearly fee of $99.00, which might seem a little steep and too much of a commitment for someone simply wanting to try out a new product.
Scott Barnes Holiday Collection
The new Holiday Collection is full of sparkle. The collection includes a “Holiday Vault” which includes 50 shadows, 10 lip glosses, 3 lip pencils, 3 duo palettes, and 3 pave powders. The vault comes with a hefty $750 price tag. However, it is worth $1400 in value, so if you already regularly purchase these items from Scott Barnes Cosmetics, this could save you a lot of money. You could also choose the option to split the vault with a friend.
Eye Collection
The eye collection offers a variety of eye palettes. We especially love the two shimmering mini palettes in their sleek packaging and the very affordable price tag of $25. However, if we had our way they would offer a few more of these mini palettes. The larger palettes come with a steep price tag and we feel as though you’re paying for a lot of colors when only a few would actually be practical to wear. There is one offering of a limited edition palette that offers eight shades at a whopping $120.
As well as the eye palettes, we absolutely love the large variety of falsetto lashes. Everyone will surely be able to find a suitable, extravagant lash that is perfect for all occasions. The 15 options of lashes include everything from wispy, natural lashes to full on showstopper glam.
Body Bling Collection
This is the one offering from Scott Barnes that we have nothing but love for. If you are looking for that ‘Hollywood Glow’, then look no further than the original Body Bling shimmering lotion. Not only does it provide a camera-ready bronze ‘glow’, but it also moisturizes and softens skin.
The product’s interesting inception is also worth noting. While on a photoshoot, Scott used his clever instincts and put leftover makeup in a blender, and came up with a body lotion. Upon perfecting the formula, he offered it to the mainstream as the original Body Bling. In addition to the original, there is also a platinum offering for those with fairer skin. We love the fact that people with different skin tones can utilize this extremely popular product.
The New Lip Collection
Scott Barnes has recently introduced a lip collection including a glossy and matte line. The two collections are known as Flossy Glossy and Fetish Matte and Scott personally developed and named each shade. The creative names definitely make an impact with examples such as ‘Champagne and Caviar’ as well as ‘Heartbreaker’.
The lip collection is the perfect option for an ultra-glam night out and will certainly impress. While we don’t love the limited options at the moment, we look forward to the promise of a full line of offerings in the coming months.
