Lorraine Nash And David Dobrik’s Marriage: What Exactly Happened?
In May 2019, David Dobrik’s entire fan base must have been shocked when he shared a vlog on YouTube followed by a post on Instagram where he was seen marrying the 75-year old mother of Jason Nash. The video starts with an interaction between Nash and Dobrik where the latter teased him for being a divorced parent, to which Nash replied, saying, “no one will marry you, ever.”
Whether this was the trigger that conceived the prank or if it was another scripted conversation is not clear yet, but following this, Dobrik flew to Boston and proposed to Nash’s mother, Lorraine Nash. After that, they flew to Las Vegas and got hitched in the famous Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
Dobrik’s Separation With Lorraine Nash
As you can expect, the vlog got many views and soon went viral among his fans. Although the wedding was a prank, it was solemnized in a chapel along with all the legalities. He even shared that initially, Lorraine Nash was confused, but when Dobrik further explained that he was interested in becoming the stepdad of his friend Jason Nash, she thought it was the best thing that could happen.
Following their haphazardly planned wedding, the couple took off for a quick honeymoon in Hawaii. But things went south soon after that, and just within a month of their wedding, Dobrik announced that he and Lorraine Nash were parting ways.
“I am heartbroken to announce that Lorraine and I have split. I wish her nothing but the best. We may have rushed into things, but that’s what happens when two young people fall in love. Please respect our privacy at this time.” He Tweeted on June 12, 2019.
It took about six months to wrap up the paperwork and finally get the marriage annulled.
The Effect of The Prank on His Relationship With Jason Nash
Jason Nash was surprisingly unbothered by the divorce, and they still have a sense of humor about it. Dobrik shared that he still calls him his son sometimes, even though Nash is 23 years older than him. In fact, throughout the whole stunt, he was incredibly supportive. Whether it was the time Dobrik proposed to his mom or when they parted ways, Nash seemed happy with the turn of events.

What followed was a series of posts on Instagram and Twitter where Dobrik opened up a little more about what went wrong between him and Lorraine. In another Instagram post, he shared, his decision to end the romantic relationship with Lorraine Nash.
“We wish this news would have come from us first, however, we know it’s difficult for the media to resist speculation. We have tried so hard to make things work. Sometimes in life, you just aren’t enough for someone; no matter what you do for them or what you try to be. Lorraine, you have been my light, my muse, and my confidante. You’ve taught me not only how to love another person but how to love myself. We will continue to love and support one another while being great friends and parents to our children. I thank everyone in advance for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Later, he also bought Jason a Tesla, which he claims he did to get Nash’s mind off the divorce.
This elaborate prank might have gone well with Jason Nash himself, but soon, many fellow Youtubers and a few members of The Vlog Squad came forward unmasking the ugly truths behind each of his vlogs. This didn’t go down well with his fans and the media, and he received severe backlash. Needless to say, his vague apology video did no good.
