Are Your Nipples Really Huge or Still Within the Normal Range?

Love your body for what it is and the wonderful places it is going to take you.

Let’s be super honest ladies. Have you ever been looking in the mirror and thought “Gawd I have huge nipples! WTH?”

Have your ex-boyfriends ever started comparing your nipples to pancakes or pepperoni slices?

While it might appear that all women have the same size nipples and/or areola, that’s just the way it appears. They are all different in the same manner that every woman is a bit different, which is what makes us so interesting to men.

Areolas and nipples

Let’s first talk about which part you are referring to when you talk about those “huge nipples.”

The areola is the colored part that surrounds the nipple itself. The nipple is what gets hard and erect when you are excited or when you breastfeed or when you get cold.

There is a huge range of areola and nipple colors and sizes that will fall within the realm of “normal.”

Our bodies will change as we pass through the different stages of life with the areola becoming larger and darker when you are pregnant, then becoming smaller and lighter in color after you give birth.

But why are my nipples so huge?

The chances are that they are perfectly normal. The biggest factor in how large and what color your areola and nipples will be depends mainly on genetics. The same DNA that gives you blonde hair, freckles, and your height will also determine the size and color of your nipples.

Of course, if you are certain that your nipples are truly uncommonly large, you can always speak to your gynecologist.

You are not alone

Believe it or not, if you talk with other women, you will find that many of them feel the same way about their mammary glands.

Some women have the opposite belief from you; thinking that their nipples are too small. Others think that their nipples are in the “wrong” place or that they just don’t look “right.”

Large nipples and areolas are not weird, they are not abnormal, and you surely aren’t the only one who has them. You might be the winner of the big nipple contest among your friends, but this doesn’t make you strange.

If you were the tallest of all your girlfriends, would you think you were strange? (Ok, maybe if you were 6’10, but otherwise…)

What if I have really long nipples?

In addition to huge nipples, some women complain that their nipples are very long.

You can sleep well tonight because having long nipples is also normal. While you might have read that the average nipple is about the height of a ladybug, you can forget about that sh*t. Even if yours are larger or longer, you are still within the normal range.

Other strange nipples

There are more types of nipples than you can suck on. Inverted nipples, double nipples, male nipples that lactate, and some people are even born with no nipples at all!

While the no nipple thing isn’t common, it isn’t unheard of and even that is considered normal.

In the end, ladies, don’t fret over your nipples, waist, or anything else. Love your body for what it is and the wonderful places it is going to take you.
