Finding the perfect jeans is no easy task. I am constantly on the look-out for flattering jeans that fit my thighs, waist, and budget.
A wardrobe staple, jeans can be easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Regardless of your needs or budget, you can find jeans that are both affordable and splurge worthy. Whatever your style, there are plenty of options when it comes to finding those jeans you never want to take off.
Boyfriend Jeans
Boyfriend jeans have evolved a lot since they were first introduced as a style of jeans for women. The baggier, oversized fit that was reminiscent of men’s jeans has progressed to a more relaxed, comfortable fit. They are perfect for a casual outfit, as they have more of a lived-in feel, rather than smarter denim that is more appropriate for dressier occasions. Whether you opt to save on the Lucky Brand jeans or splurge on Joe’s Jeans from Saks Fifth Avenue, a pair of casual boyfriend jeans is a wardrobe necessity.

Mom Jeans
Mom jeans are a firm favorite when it comes to jeans. The high-waisted, flattering jeans were originally considered fashionable in the late 1980s and early 1990s and were named after the middle-aged women that wore them. Now, mom jeans are a versatile staple piece for all seasons, as they look great with a crop top or a tucked in t-shirt or sweater. Many TV fashion icons have favored the mom jeans throughout the years, from Rachel Green in Friends to the entire cast of Beverly Hills, 90210, who still hold influence today.

Bell-Bottom Jeans
Bell-bottom jeans are flared jeans with a retro-inspired silhouette. When picturing bell-bottoms, it’s hard not to picture a 1970s disco. The flattering jeans are wider from the knees downward, which forms a bell shape at the bottom.
If you’re unsure if this return to the 70s is just a fad, I would recommend buying the save option. However, you could always invest in the splurge jeans for when this style inevitably comes back into fashion further down the line.

Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans have become a classic style that is extremely versatile. The adaptable skinny jeans look casual and cool worn in a distressed light wash with a grunge-style loose t-shirt, or they can be made to look classier in a darker wash with a pair of heels and a blazer. The figure-hugging jeans have become somewhat of a wardrobe essential, so I won’t hold it against you if you choose to splurge on the $168 pair from Intermix.

Extra Low-Rise Jeans
Extra low-rise jeans definitely have their critics, but the style of jeans has been slowly coming back into fashion. Low-rise jeans sit on the base of your hips and can be worn to show off your belly button. Low-rise jeans were popular around the millennium with Paris Hilton and Keira Knightley regularly pictured in the notorious style of denim. However, more recently, extra low-rise jeans have been pictured on stylish celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski, where she paired them with a crop top to show off her amazingly toned stomach.
