Originating from the Middle East and Asia, eyebrow threading has gradually spread all across the globe and gained immense popularity. If you have never tried it before, you have probably landed the best place to know all about face and eyebrow threading!

Eyebrow threading is a technique of removing and shaping brow hair with the help of a cotton thread. The strands are pulled and twisted along the areas of unwanted hair growth to give the eyebrows a perfect shape. This process lifts the follicles by the root and doesn’t involve tugging or plucking, which can be painful in the sensitive area around the eyes. Face threading is the extension of eyebrow threading whereby unwanted hair from the upper lip, forehead, and chin is removed.

What Goes Into the Process of Eyebrow Threading?

Then, they stretch the skin around the eyebrows to make the area firm. This also helps in the removal of the tiniest hair. After the threading is completed in the lower and upper parts of the eyebrows, the experts typically trim the remaining length of the brow to bring it to a consistent level. After everything is complete and you are happy with the shape of your eyebrows, the beautician will rub lotion to soothing the area and doing away with infections.

If you are new to eyebrow threading, the area from where the hair is removed may appear reddish and glowing for some time. It is best to keep the area clean and reduce makeup usage for the first few days.

Will It Hurt a Lot?

How much does it hurt to get eyebrows plucked?

Though eyebrow threading cannot be an entirely painless process, it is not painful! While someone threads your eyebrows, you will feel something as the hair follicles are uprooted in batches. Many people also compare the pain with that of tweezing, though the latter is much more painful due to pulling single hair. According to some people, the pain is similar to waxing or less invasive due to working on many hairs altogether.

Until you experience eyebrow threading, it will be tough to discern how painful it is. Also, the pain subsides when you undergo the process quite a few times.

How Should You Prepare Yourself for Eyebrow Threading?

Clean your face before eyebrow threading.

When you go for threading, chances are the whole session would take around ten minutes. This means you can get it done during your breaks or on your way somewhere. But before you go an eyebrow threading, you should be careful of a few things:

  • Exfoliate before the process: If you have thick ingrown hairs in and around your eyebrows, it is best to exfoliate and moisturize the area before your appointment. This will reduce the growth of flaky and dead skin while loosening the hair follicles to some extent.
  • Do not wear any makeup: Even if you wear a bit of eye makeup, the professional beautician will wipe them off before the process. But it is always advised to avoid the application of makeup products before and after threading. Right after the process, the skin remains highly sensitive and irritable for a few hours, and applying makeup over it can result in swelling and allergy due to clogging of pores.

If you have sensitive skin, you might have redness, allergies, and swelling around your eyebrows, especially if you are a beginner. You should apply a soothing moisturizer like aloe vera gel to the affected area.

Should You Try It at Home?

Eyebrow threading at hime-is it safe?

These days, everything is possible with online DIY tutorials. Though it is possible to get your eyebrows done at home, it is not recommended if you are inexperienced. The professionals are trained in threading techniques, and they can complete the process in one swoop.

Besides, shaping the eyebrows is a tricky process and cannot be compared to face threading. They can get it done within a couple of minutes and take care of the sensitive area post-threading. When it comes to shaping and threading your eyebrows, each one of us has some fancies about it. Perhaps you want your brows like your favorite pop star or the girl you met on the flight last week!

An expert can guide you on the ideal shape that will suit your face and eyebrow quality. That is why you should discuss the look you want to create and determine whether it will suit you. Once it is decided, an expert threader can weave magic into your eyebrows and enhance your facial features even without makeup!
