Sasha is of Serbian descent, and her real name is Suzana Drobnjakovic. She was born in Los Angeles in California and jumped head-first into the field of acting when she was in her seventh grade. She has shown her prowess in acting from a very young age, and there is no mystery why she has gained such fame in the acting industry.
The Shameless actress was also an ice skater. Unfortunately, she had to excuse herself from the art of ice-skating due to a severe knee injury. Sasha Alexander gained immense recognition for her acting through her school life and continued acting in college. She soon moved to New York to perform in summer stock and participate in the Shakespeare festivals.

Sasha got married to Luka Pecel on September 18, 1999. Sadly, this marriage did not last long. They had to annul the marriage eventually. But, Alexander found her happiness with her partner Edoardo Ponti, to who she got married on August 11, 2007. Edoardo is the son of the renowned actress Sophia Loren and the famous director, Carlo Ponti.
Sasha and Edoardo share two children. They have their daughter Lucia and also a son named Leonardo. Lucia’s godmother is Jessica Capshaw, a talented actress known for her role in ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, a medical drama.

Sasha started her career young. However, she got her break into acting on the big screen through two very short-lived series. One was named Presidio Med, a medical drama, and then Wasteland, a twenty-something drama.
Her career took an upward turn when she appeared as Gretchen Witter on Dawson’s Creek. In the show’s fourth season, Gretchen was the sister of the character from the show, named Pacey Witter, and Gretchen even dated the show’s main character.
Onscreen, Sasha Alexander got to share a kiss with Sarah Silverman on the Fox show- Greg the Bunny. It was a comedy show, where she appeared as a TV Guide Reporter who was also lesbian. The NCIS actress was also part of movies like Lucky 13, and He’s Just Not That Into You, where she played Catherine. Another famous hit by Sasha Alexander is All Over the Guy. She was also part of an independent movie titled The Last Lullaby and played Lucy’s character in Yes Man, which starred Jim Carrey.
