So we went right to the source, the three founders of the app: Chris Moskal,
Daniel Russo, and Juliana Scialabba. They are home-based between Holmdel NJ and NYC, so we knew they would deliver us some goods!

What exactly is the Vyve app and how does it work?

Vyve starts off as an application-based process. Each user is screened to verify their identity to create the safest and most relationship-based community you can find. Singles then match by answering an ice-breaking question, which in turn matches them with someone they can start a conversation with. Photos gradually unblur with each chat, then once revealed that match can then decide to continue getting to know each other or they can try for another match. If they decide to keep talking, that match can continue to unlock different levels such as social media links and question logs. Our process focuses on getting to know someone rather than stacking up as many attractive people as you can in your match bucket. We also have a limit on matches, making it a more intimate experience on the platform.

Oh, we will! NYgals love a challenge! So tell us, where did this idea originate from?

The idea for Vyve came from a feeling that we felt a lot of people shared. When you connect with someone on an intellectual level, and you truly feel like you are on the same wavelength (or as we like to call it- Vyving) you feel incredible. It’s the type of sensation that makes you rush to your phone every time you receive a message in the hopes that it’s that special person you’ve been talking to. Our biggest challenge when creating Vyve was ensuring everyone would be completely open with one another. That’s why we start each relationship on Vyve with nothing: no photos, no bio, no coins to unlock more levels. The user’s only option is to chat openly and see if the Vyve is there because that’s the most important part of any relationship.

To add to Dan’s answer- the idea originated from the poor experiences everyone around us had and continues to have with swiping apps. Conversations were repetitive and getting together with someone to hopefully experience that lovely in person connection was near impossible. Dating profiles are a trap. Guys don’t know what pictures they look good in and girls make it impossible for men to determine who they’re even talking to half the time. On Vyve, none of that interferes with the purpose of trying to find someone. We created a platform that eliminates all those superficial problems and lets you be yourself.
Let’s get real! Have any of you personally used the app?

Yes, at first it was for testing, however, we all got caught up in Vyve as we started sharing stories about who we were chatting with. When you communicate openly with the people you meet, it’s an amazing experience. You learn a lot about others as well as yourself, and you get to be open and find someone who might feel the same way as you do about 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets.

Of course, I did! I think the best part of using your own product is that it gives you great insight on what you’re doing right, and what you can improve on- with further developing the system! My favorite part about using Vyve is seeing how people answer the ice-breaking questions. It’s so much fun to see how a conversation starts so organically after that. Within 10-20 messages you understand what that person is like and if you Vyve with them simply by knowing their bagel shop order!

Most people’s experiences with Vyve can be described as refreshing. There are so many swiping apps out there that have really put a bad taste in their mouths. Vyve is showing singles that there is a way to connect and meet people who really like them for them– all on the convenience of an app.
You’ve convinced us- Vyve is a dating game-changer! So, what makes the Vyve team so passionate about what they’re selling?

Our generation has taken dating apps to a place they probably shouldn’t have gone– feeding into this superficial dating world. Building relationships based on a solid emotional connection is the key to a lasting relationship. We are firm believers in making priorities when dating someone about internal attributes rather than the physical. We have all been on those apps talking to a girl or boy simply because we liked the way they looked– then when we meet them in person to find that it’s a huge disappointment. It’s because, as humans, we idealize the situation and make excuses for certain red flags. Or just make excuses for someone who is boring because we like their aesthetics. Vyve is all about those men and women who are serious about dating on an emotional and personal level…that’s what keeps us inspired every day.

It’s very easy to be passionate about something that you know brings happiness to people. Giving people the ability to experience what Vyve stands for is a dream come true. I wish someone gave it to me! People all over the world know that swiping apps aren’t the solution to the excessive relationship problems that exist- therefore I’m proud to say Vyve is not feeding the problem. Finding others that you can connect with on a personal level outweighs everything else and is destined to make you a better and happier person.
