In late 2016, Jamielynn founded Rogue House Salon in the East Village. In addition to running Rogue House, Jamielynn has acted as the lead stylist for designers at New York Fashion Week, such as Vishali, Cindy Monterio, Affair, and Hong Kong Presentation Show. She is also a brand ambassador well known hair products.
NYGal magazine had the honor to interview Jamielynn and here is everything you need to know about her.
1. How did you start your online career?
I worked my way from the bottom to the top. Working at top tier salons, building their clientele. When social media became imminent, hairstyling change and having your work visible was part of the culture. Clients were able to see my work and my growth as a business owner.
2. What does it mean to be an influencer for you?
It means making an impact and telling your story. My story is about impacting lives and community. We worked together to come as one. The opportunities I had were because people who were so supportive and seeing the business grow.
3. What’s the one word to describe you?
Growth! Evolving and always being the better me. I am open to opportunities and creating them.

4. What you love the most about you?
I always tell people, I am no better or less, just a human being impact lives even if it is just the people around me. I have been on publications and featured events. I do not believe I showed raise my prices, only if the work takes longer and is extensive. I believe my clients should be able to pay for me and keep my clients who have been loyal throughout the years. It was them, what got me where I am at today.
5. What’s your favourite thing/place in New York?
People. I love New York because the people are the heart of it. When you look around, everyone has a story to tell of why they came here or how it has changed them. You can do anything in New York. New York really changes you as a person.
6. What’s the one thing you’d change about New York?
Making more time for people. Everyone is always in a rush and I am also guilty of it. I have to be reminded at times.I calendar events and time for friends and family.
7. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Expanding my salon and giving a hair home for hairstylist to grow and where clients can be themselves knowing they have a place they can trust and feel safe.
8. What’s your life motto?
Play to Win, everything is a game in life. How you play it and put the pieces together can make anything inevitable.
9. If you could have one superpower what would it be?
FLY! I wanna travel around the world and experience different cultures, the good and the bad.
10. What’s the one thing you wish you knew sooner?
A bigger salon. Being an entrepreneur is hard. People think your rich, but you work just as hard to get to where you need to be You go through struggles and it makes you a better person. Timing is everything and things come sooner with patience.
11, What’s the most important advice you could give to starting up creators?
Start with a base, do not listen to the people around you and always believe in yourself. You got this!
