With August on the horizon, summer isn’t finished anytime soon and this city’s heat is set to stay for a little while longer.
Avoiding or coping with the weather at present may limit city dwellers to a few options: Staying indoors, finding a suitable climate in restaurants or bars, chasing shade in parks or leaving altogether to go to a nearby beach.
However, NYC does have a number of oasis’s that can’t be seen from street level. And what could be better than a rooftop bar?
ANSWER: A rooftop bar with a pool.
Perched on top of many hotels and tall buildings, are secluded pools unbeknownst to many.
NYgal has found a few rooftop pools that are open to the public and non-guests with day passes, offering cocktails and a refreshing breeze from being several stories above the stuffy, congested NYC sidewalks.

The Dream Downtown’s 5000 square foot Beach Club is located in Chelsea, in close proximity to The Highline, The Meatpacking district, and Chelsea Market.
If you’re not one of the guests or staying in the seven exclusive rooms with direct access to the pool, there is a $65 day-pass available, depending on how full it is.
Dream Beach club’s pool has a glass bottom and, to enhance the feeling of escapism for the weekend, the deck is covered with real sand.
Spend all day, from 11-8, on one of the 50 beds circling the pool or one of the private cabanas and grab lunch, brunch or a snack from the cafe.

The outstanding William Vale Hotel building, in the neighborhood of Williamsburg, is an elegant statement of modern luxury and demands the best views of the Skyline at 22 stories high.
The view, which is amongst one of the most praised features, can be appreciated by the naked eye and complimentary observation viewers. The William Vale rooftop also holds the longest swimming pool in the city at 60 feet!
This isn’t solely limited to guests, though, as the hotel opens to the public every Monday-Thursday during the summer season.
But, the pricing reflects its chicness, with Chaise Lounge beds starting at $150 and Cabanas reaching $850 that can fit (and be divided between) eight people for a very special occasion.
