Forget working out at the smelly old gym! New York City is full of outdoor fitness classes where you can take in some much needed Vitamin C while working on that base tan. The best part? There’s no need to pull a Bridesmaids scenario where you have to try and copy an expensive class from afar. These kick-butt workouts won’t cost you a cent.

From May 22 through the end of August, the Meatpacking Business Improvement District and Wellth Collective will be offering various free classes every Tuesday night, which include activities such as yoga, dance cardio, boxing, and pilates. Hang around afterwards for complimentary bites and sips from local businesses. RSVP up to a week in advance here.

2) The Rise

MacDonald Park, Queens

The early bird gets the worm and the workout with The Rise. No need to register for this one, simply show up for the 30 minute workout at 6:30 a.m. Treat yourself afterwards with a group visit to Martha’s Bakery.

3) Bryant Park Yoga

The first 1,200 yogis to show up can borrow a mat from Gaiam, however, feel free to bring your own. You can even grab a Frequent Yogi card for freebies and discounts after your first ten classes.
