Every person walking on this planet comes from a mom, regardless of the relationship – whether it is a biological mom or the women we look up to as mother figures – and until technology eliminates the need for the female body to be used as a reproductive vessel, people will continue being born from, learning from, and loving mothers deeply. In case you forgot, Mother’s Day is on May 13 this year and it is incredibly important that you celebrate your mom’s life, or at least get her a card. New York City is teeming with things to do along with places to be and to see, so if your mom is in town for the weekend and you want to find something special to celebrate her, look no further!

Mother’s Day Wellness
Maybe a city-wide search isn’t within your mom’s interests, but she still enjoys being active. If you are a barre or yoga junkie and you really want to show your mom what class is all about, Mother’s Day is the day! Exhale Spa is running an incredible promotion for the holiday this year, only on Mother’s Day, if you bring your mom to class, your mom goes for free. Mother’s Day Brunch
Let’s say your mom is dressed to the nines and has no interest spending her day getting any level of sweaty. No sweat! New York’s favorite pastime is brunch, combining our love of day drinking with incredible food combinations. There are so many places offering prix-fixe brunch menus; most come with varying food courses and at least one drink. If you have a favorite local haunt, give them a call, maybe they’re offering a special; if not, some recommendations for this special Sunday are De Maria in NoLita, Acqua at South Street Seaport, or Houseman in the West Village. Better yet, opt for the Around Manhattan Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise, which is brunching while enjoying gorgeous skyline views from a yacht.
Mother’s Day Shopping and Exploring
New York City is also home to some of the best shopping on the planet, as well as museums, theaters, and beautiful parks – there is something for every type of mom and every kind of desired day.
Ultimately, the best part of Mother’s Day is spending time with the women in your life that you look up to and thank them for the impact they make in your life. With that being said, Happy Mother’s Day to the woman we are lucky enough to call mom, who indeed makes our lives oh so colorful!
