The Fitness Craze is Alive and Well in NYC
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In NYC, people are health, fitness and environmentally conscious. They want the best for their bodies, minds, and their wallets. However, how many of us complain about wanting to work out but not having enough time? Instead, we pretend like getting off the subway a stop early is our exercise of the day. What if you found a fitness regime that really fired you up and made you want to go to the gym each day rather than looking at it as a chore? Have you ever thought that maybe you just haven’t found the right workout yet? Look no further, because we are here to help!

This guy flys across the room like a superhero! Have you heard of HIIT? HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It has been around for a little while, but as all fitness crazes do, this one is regaining popularity as a quick, effective method to get your heart racing and see results, even in as little as ten minutes. Yes, as little as ten minutes of daily HIIT exercise can help your body. The foundation of the fitness theory is based on rooted and quick circuits followed by even quicker rest periods, and when completed effectively, HIIT workouts can continue burning calories in your body for up to 36 hours after you finished the class. Studios like HIIT Box in Brooklyn offer just about six classes a day for you to choose from.

According to the HIIT BOX website, each session incorporates cardio drills, plyometrics, sandbells, ViPRs, kettlebells, rowers, battle ropes, medicine balls, gliders and more. No two sessions are the same and utilize many different energy systems, making it an amazingly efficient way to achieve the results you want.

Hump Day? More like Pump Day. Get ready to battle the post-holiday blues by signing up before June 1 for our 2-week, $99-unlimited class special. For more info, click the 🔗link in our bio☝🏼❄️. #feelthebrrrn #coldture #humpday #pumpday #wellnesswednesday #redwingboots

Maybe you are dreading the start of summer and wishing for cooler days. In New York, there is a workout that will grant your request in terms of temperatures! Brrrn is a boutique fitness studio in the city that is all about being cold while you sweat. Two gents, Jimmy and Johnny, came up with the idea to create a fitness environment where the goal is to use the theory of “mild cold stress” to act as a natural stressor to our bodies. Suddenly, our bodies are relying on themselves to generate heat in addition to working out.

They have three different class offerings, 1st for yoga-inspired mobility and strength series at a mild 60 degrees, 2nd for core and cardio while incorporating the slide board at 55 degrees, and 3rd for battle ropes at 45 degrees. Talk about chilly.

Efficiency and productivity is sexy! I attended @mfisherfitness’ Time Ninja workshop this weekend to learn how get more shit done with less stress. As a result, I’m committed to prioritizing the important things in my life by using strategies to maximize my time. Highly suggest checking out Business for Unicorns for anyone wanting a fun way to get better at life. 🦄✨⏱#timeninja #businessforunicorns #markfisherfitness

To be fair, neither of these options may be within your interests. There are also studios like Mark Fisher Fitness, whose tagline is “Serious Fitness for Ridiculous Humans in NYC.” If you are someone who wants to start getting into fitness but have no idea where to start, or thinks everyone is looking at you when walking into the gym, then this studio is for you. At Mark Fisher Fitness, you have the option of taking part in a semi-private class session, group classes, and the Snatched program which is perfect for those who want to see a transformation in six weeks. There is something for everyone at this venue no matter what your goals are.

Whether or not your goals are summer based, regardless of your current fitness level, there is always a special workout for everyone to enjoy and get their heartbeat going along with blood flowing.
