Tennis skirts have been a major trend in fashion for many years, especially for young women. Whether it’s to actually go play tennis, or just because you enjoy this pleated skirt style, they always look great on. With the tennis skirt, just like any other skirt, you might find it difficult to style. Also, you might be curious as to what shoes go with it, and how to make it work with the whole outfit.

This type of skirt is meant to be fun and people wear them in all kinds of ways. If you have no idea how to wear the tennis skirt, well then keep on reading. Below we outline what kinds of shoes you should wear with them.

White Low-Top Sneakers

white sneakers and tennis skirt

When wearing this fun type of skirt, one common sneaker that people pair with is white sneakers. White sneakers are a common go-to with tennis skirts because they usually match whatever tennis outfit you are wearing. Also, they go with the style which is usually a mix of preppy and sporty. Women don’t just wear any type of white sneaker, they usually tend to go with a low-top sneaker as a choice.

With tennis skirts, it’s always best to go with low-top white sneakers that aren’t too big on the feet. The reason is that low-tops, in general, look better with skirts, especially short skirts.

Tennis Skirt and Ankle Boots

Aside from wearing white sneakers. if you want a more fashionable look, pair your skirt with ankle boots. You can’t ever go wrong with a nice pair of ankle boots, and they always look great with skirts. No matter what color the skirt is, always try to make sure the ankle boots match as well, If your tennis skirt is white, wear some black or nude-colored ones. Also, if you are wearing a colorful one such as pink, green, or yellow stick to brown or black ankle boots as well.

Of course, you can also wear the same colored boots as your skirt, and then wear a white shirt underneath. We recommend wearing ankle boots with a skirt for spring or fall weather.

Platform Loafers

Loafers for many years were seen as a shoe that women wore mostly as comfortable workwear. Over the years, loafers have also become a go-to business casual or preppy shoe for wearing anywhere. One common pair of loafers that are also taken over are platform loafers, which are extremely comfortable. A great pair of platform loafers are perfect for wearing with a tennis skirt also and go together so well.

When pairing together this shoe with this skirt, make sure the loafers are very simple. When wearing a tennis skirt, it is a sporty look so make sure the shoe and skirt fit the same theme and occasion.

Combat Boots, Tennis Skirt and A Pullover

As you can see from reading, tennis skirts go so well with so many shoes and there are so many ideas. Another great styling tip is also to wear them with a pair of combat boots. In your head, it might sound like a weird idea but when you wear them together it actually works really well. This idea is perfect for going to class when you want something comfortable yet fashionable.

Another great tip is to wear combat boots, with a matching black plaid skirt, and some black stockings. Also, finish it off with a pullover sweater to give your look that casual yet preppy finish.

Strappy Sandals

The final type of shoe that goes really well with tennis skirts is some strappy sandals. Even though summer is months away, you can still come up with looks for when warm weather approaches. An outfit idea to keep in mind is wearing, white strappy sandals, a white tennis skirt, and a cropped polo top. Also, you can buy some simple strappy sandals in a nude color that way it goes with whatever color skirt you buy.

This idea works perfectly for summer days out when you want to put on a skirt, some sandals and be on your way.
