Black Friday, or what it should be known as Sales Week, is here. The sales are no longer strictly on Friday and usually, last for about a week. This can be a good thing if you’ve saved up and know the best deals. For those struggling with money, it can be a tempting nightmare.

You work hard, though. And, there’s nothing wrong with getting a few treats for yourself, or for others in time for Christmas. Even if it’s as little as a pair of socks- everyone can do with new socks, don’t let the guilt-trip ruin your splurge. Make sure you only spend what you can and then have fun. There’s no point buying things if you’re going to beat yourself up over it after. We believe you deserve it.

To prepare you for scouring through deals and deciding whether your social life will be on the quiet side this month, listen to our playlist. Listen to it after to ward off any negativity, too.

We begin with probably the most feel-good song ever made. Feeling Good by Nina Simone is a song that makes you want to make the most of the day, spend money and put on your best outfit. Think of it as a warm-up shopping song. Next, we have C.R.E.A.M by Wu-tang Clan, because, right now, cash kind of does rule everything around me. I need those shoes, but I also need to pay my rent.

Lady Gaga’s catchy song Money Honey from her Fame era will stay in your head as you browse online or IRL through sparkly dresses for the approaching NYE.

“That’s M O N E Y, so sexy, I/That’s money, honey”

There is no way we could make a playlist about treating yourself, spending money and being proud of it without adding Beyonce. In her song Upgrade U with Jay-Z, the two sing and rap about their notably expensive tastes and enjoying it together.

Although you may not be able to afford an Audemars Piguet watch this Black Friday/Cyber Monday, you could find something special enough to make you feel upgraded. Maybe the new iPhone?

For the serious voice inside your head or the serious people in your life that advise against spending any money on sales: Don’t Fucking Tell Me What To Do by Robyn.

In addition, your bank account may disagree with Gwen Stefani and Eve’s Rich Girl, but it feels good to pretend and with some of the deals you got, you’ll definitely feel like it. Nasty Gal seriously has 50% off of everything.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Another song with the word ‘girl’ in it is Madonna’s Material Girl. It’s a classic and the video, where Madonna is dressed as Marilyn Monroe to a beating track is as 80s as it is genius.

And, Hailee Steinfeld’s Love Myself is that little perk that you might need after slightly going over your budget. It was for a good cause! You will get paid next week. Eventually, it will balance itself out again, which is why we also added I Just Got Paid by Sigala.

Lastly, we wanted to leave listeners feeling as if they deserved it and a bit like Lil’ Wayne after he jumps off the car in the A Milli music video. Happy spending!
