We all have our favorite go-to cafe hangout spot. Whether you’re there for the coffee, a quick bite, or simply just to hangout, there are several traits that a coffee shop has to posses in order to make it a good one! New York cafes do a great job of offering so many different things to keep customers coming back!

1) Kinfolk 90
I decided to start off this list with one of my personal favorites. Located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, Kinfolk 90 is the epitome of a trendy NY cafe! The walls are covered in unique art and it’s actually a converted garage meaning the whole front is open and exposed.
Kinfolk 90 is a cafe by day and an occasional nightclub at night! During the day, they offer an amazing selection of coffee and different baked goods and other snacks! Take your stuff to go or take a seat inside the gorgeously decorated cafe!

2) The Bean
This next New York cafe has the best vibes! The Bean really reminds me of a coffee shop that would be on a sitcom TV show! It has two locations located in downtown NYC, located close by each other!
The Bean is your typical friendly neighborhood coffee shop. They serve a variety of sandwiches and other small eats (vegan options included) as well as deliciously fresh roasted coffees and teas! It will easily become a new favorite if you decide to try it out!

3) The Bean
If you’re looking for another one of the more photogenic New York cafes, then Two Hands may be the place for you! Two Hands is a great option with 3 locations across Manhattan, making it easy access to all!
Two Hands serves a variety of different foods, such as egg sandwiches, salads, and pastries! On top of that, they have a huge selection of coffees and tees. They’re easily customizable to your liking, including optional CBD in your coffee and plenty of dairy-free options!

4) Blue Dog Cafe
If you’re familiar with the Blue Dog restaurants, then you may be in luck! With another one of their locations being exclusively a cafe, make the most of your New York cafes experience by making sure you stop by Blue Dog Cafe!
Located in Carnegie Hall, Blue Dog Cafe is open to serve for both breakfast and lunch! With a menu including everything from pancakes to tuna salad, there’s bound to be something for everyone at Blue Dog!

5) Happy Bones
Whenever I am running around downtown New York, I make sure to always try to stop by Happy Bones! Located in Soho, it’s the perfect place to stop in for a shopping break to get some energy in!
With a quaint and quiet decor, Happy Bones is also a great place to get work done! They offer the perfect menu, including cappuccinos, lattes, and iced coffees!

6) La Columbe
You might have seen the name La Colombe before. Trader Joe’s offers their products in cans and there are locations in cities such as New York and Chicago! And once you try it out, you’ll quickly be able to understand the hype as to why it’s one of the best New York cafes!
La Colombe has several locations across Manhattan, including Bryant Park, Soho, and the Meatpacking District! They offer a delicious assortment of coffees and baked goods and, as of recently, smoothie bowls! It’s the perfect one-stop cafe!

7) Bluestone Lane
If you like the vibes that La Colombe has to offer, then you may really enjoy Bluestone Lane! Like La Colombe, Bluestone Lane has several locations across NYC and offers an extensive coffee menu with light food options!
Inspired by Australian coffee, cafes, and decor, Bluestone Lane is a great environment to really relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee! They also offer a delicious brunch menu with dishes such as banana toast and a keto protein bowl! It’s the perfect combination of all the good things about New York cafes!

8) Birch Coffee
Another largely popular chain across Manhattan is Birch Coffee. And there is a reason for its amazing success! Birch is a charming cafe where you can go and unplug, because Birch actually does not provide Wi-Fi to it’s customers!
Take time to unwind and relax at Birch Coffee by turning off your phone and computer and treating yourself to one of their many delicious menu items!

9) Maman
Located in Soho, NYC, Maman is another one of those places that is just so photogenic! It is a cafe, bakery and occasional rent space that is decorated to absolute perfection!
Inspired by the cuisine of the south of France and North America, their menu has an amazing variety of options! Whether you’re in the mood for a pastry or a salad, they have it all! They’re open for takeout and delivery as well!
