Clara Mathilde McGregor, daughter of Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor, is many things. She is an actress, a model, a producer, and a co-founder of Duex Dames Entertainment. On top of all of that, Clara McGregor is also the fashion icon and inspiration we all need for a 2022 Feral Girl Summer.
What is Feral Girl Summer?
For the past three years, we’ve all heard of having a “Hot Girl Summer” and “Hot Vax Summer” to the point where it has become a bit of a meme on the internet. However, with the release of Lorde’s album, “Solar Power” in August of 2021, being “feral” this summer is the newest trend.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert, the singer, Lorde, described her newest album cover as, “innocent and playful and a little bit like feral and I don’t know, sexy.” The internet then fell in love with the description “a little bit feral” and Feral Girl Summer was officially popularized. Unlike Hot Girl Summer, Feral Girl Summer is less about catering to others with your appearance and more about doing what makes you feel happy and comfortable. Many also feel that being feral has a raw emotional and personal level to it that previous trends lack. As summer is approaching many might need help with embracing our feral selves and let me tell you, Clara Mathilde McGregor’s Instagram is ripe with feral inspiration.
Clara’s Red Carpet Monochrome Suit:
Not only is Clara Mathilde McGregor extremely formidable for attending a red carpet event just minutes after leaving the emergency room from a nasty dog bite, but she’s also served such immaculate vibes on said red carpet with this baggy monochrome suit in her post from June 13th, 2021. While it still feels like a red carpet look, Clara also looks so comfortable and summery in this outfit. This off-white blazer, vest, and slacks combo with a matching purse are absolutely perfect for the professional feral girl this summer.
Vest With Nothing Underneath:
In Clara Mathilde McGregor’s Instagram post from April 1st, 2022, she had an outfit on that just screamed “feral”. In the first photo, she can be seen wearing elastic gym shorts. On top, she has an open vest with nothing underneath the vest. While you might not be comfortable with an open vest in public, a closed vest while braless would be just as stunning (plus, going braless can be so beneficial and empowering).
Bonus: in the second photo of this post Clara is in bed wearing just a t-shit and socks looking as comfortable, beautiful, and feral as can be! The best part about Feral Girl Summer is that you don’t have to leave your home to participate. It’s all about being your truest and most comfortable self, even when no one is watching!
The Whole Family Is Worried:
In one of Clara McGregor’s latest Instagram posts from April 18th, 2022 she posted a photo dump with all different outfits. All five of them are radiant and feral in their own way, but my personal favorites are the last two. The second to last features a neon orange cropped t-shirt with a matching hat that says “FINANCE”. She also has on a chunky white beaded necklace. While this might not be my go-to outfit, she rocks it! She just looks so incredibly confident and happy in this photo and that’s exactly what Feral Girl Summer is all about! Who cares what you’re wearing, so long as it makes you feel good?
The final outfit in this photo dump features a small black and white beaded necklace. She is also wearing a slightly oversized yellow graphic t-shirt that reads “THE WHOLE FAMILY IS WORRIED”. This is just such a fun and funny shirt that’s perfect for lounging in and I think we all need to get one.
Turtleneck And Circle Glasses:
From Clara Mathilde McGregor to Steve Jobs, to you and I, turtlenecks look good on literally everybody. This post from February 2nd, 2022 shows Clara in a simple black turtleneck on a rooftop. The second photo also features some very cute circle sunglasses. This is such a gorgeous and classic look that honestly doesn’t just exist in summer. You can wear thinner turtlenecks like this one in the warmer weather of spring and summer. You can also wear thicker ones in the latter half of the calendar for a whole Feral Girl Year! Thin and soft turtlenecks are also the perfect way to appear put together this summer while also feeling comfortable. You can pair it with sunglasses like Clara did or any other accessories that make you happy!
Floral Tank-top With Clumpy Mascara:
This look from February 10th, 2022 includes a feral outfit along with feral makeup. Clara’s top is just a simple floral tank-top with spaghetti straps. This is a beautiful closet staple for spring and summer. Her makeup is mostly very simple and natural apart from very clumpy mascara. Clumpy mascara, also often referred to as spider lashes, has gone in and out of fashion for decades. No matter where you stand on it, I think we can all agree that the way she does it in this post by pairing it with tightlining is just perfect and of course, a little bit feral.
