Who is Cassidy Freeman?
Cassidy Freeman is a musician and American actress born on 22nd April 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. She comes from a family of attorneys, with both her parents, Lee freeman, and Glynna Freeman, being prominent Chicago attorneys. She is the only daughter and the last born of four children, with three brothers, Clark Freeman, Crispin Freeman, and Ryan Freeman (Adopted).

She attended The Latin School of Chicago and then got a degree in Spanish and theatre from Middlebury College. She has featured in many television series and short films since entering the Industry. She has appeared in Yellow Brick Road, a thriller film by Jesse Holland and Andy Milton. She was also in the movie Razor Sharp which won the Best Film Action at Comic-Con.
One of her most significant roles was playing Tess Mercer’s character in the superhero drama Smallville. She played the role until the end of the show in 2011. She has had a recurring role in the crime drama CSI, appearing in three different seasons. She later landed a role in the fan-favorite CW fantasy drama series The Vampire Diaries, playing the character Sage. In 2012 she starred in the series Longmire.
Her Role in the Series Longmire
Cassidy Freeman well executed the role of Cady Longmire, the troubled daughter of the main character Walt Longmire. Her mother dies while she is in Law school, and this deeply devastates her. She abandons her plans to leave Wyoming, their hometown, and go practice law in a big city as her father is a mess following her mother’s death.
While at Wyoming, she strives to find out the truth behind her mother’s death and seek justice for her. However, she is not very happy and fulfilled staying in Wyoming; she struggles between her sense of duty to her father and her desire to experience and explore more things in life on her own. Her love for her father, however, wins. The series ends with her trying to fit into the shoes of her father as sheriff.
Her Career Since Longmire
Freeman had quite a good run with Longmire, and she had even grown to become a fan favorite. During her time at Longmire, She also had a role in NCIS; New Orleans playing Eva Azarova, a Russian spy, and appeared in other crossover episodes for the same show.
When the Longmire ended in 2017, she landed a role in the horror-thriller The Forever Purge playing Emma Kate. She has also been in Fender Bender, another horror film that follows the life of a 17-year-old girl who has a serial killer stalker. She has also been part of the cast of the show Doubt, starring alongside Katherine Heigl, which went on for one season.
She later starred in one of HBO’s best shows of 2019, The Righteous Gemstones, where she played the wife of the televangelist Jesse Gemstone, Amber Gemstone. Fans are still eagerly waiting for the production of the show’s second season, which has been delayed because of the pandemic.

Her Music Career
Cassidy Freeman is also a professional musician; she can sing and play the piano. She formed a band with Andy Milton and her Brother Clark Freeman, who is the band’s drummer. Her band is called The Real D’Coy.
Freeman has spoken about going back to the studio to record some songs with her band. They got an opportunity to play at the Wight Festival in England, which was a really great opportunity for the band.
Cassidy Freeman’s Personal Life
In 2012, she married Justin Carpenter, and together they have a beautiful daughter. Not much is known about her relationships and marriage, as she likes to lead a very private life.
She is heavily involved in charity work and donates her time at the Heal the Bay charity, whose work goes towards cleaning and conserving the waters on the West Coast. She is also involved in tutoring children at Virginia Avenue Project. She is very socially and politically involved. She enjoys traveling and taking pictures in places she has been to with her husband, daughter, and brothers.
