It never ceases to amaze me how one event can completely alter the course our lives are headed in. Hard work and meticulous planning can be wiped away at a moment’s notice. But it is how you handle the changes and adapt that defines you and your future. A great example of adjusting and setting a new course can be found with actor Adrian Pasdar. Curious as to what drove Adrian into acting? Keep reading below to find out the answer to this question and learn more about the Top Gun actor!

Get Familiar With Adrian Pasdar
Adrian Pasdar was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on April 30, 1965, to Iranian immigrant Homayoon Pasdar and Rosemarie Sbresny. Adrian’s father worked as a cardiac surgeon in the Philadelphia area. His mother stayed busy working as a travel agent.

A natural athlete, Adrian played high school football at Marple Newtown High School before moving on to the University of Florida to play ball. Although he was a talented athlete, acting would ultimately become Adrian’s passion and profession.
The actor isn’t the only member of his family that chose a path in the entertainment industry. Adrian’s sister, Anamarie Pasdar, has been a producer and works as a theatrical artistic director.
Married Life
Celebrity often attracts celebrity, and that’s precisely what happened with Adrian Pasdar. In June 2000, Adrian would marry famous, maybe infamous, country singer Natalie Maines in Las Vegas. Unlike most Vegas weddings that tend to end on Monday mornings after everyone sobers up, Adrian and Natalie made a solid go at their marriage. The couple remained together for 17-years.
Adrian Pasdar’s wife Natalie was a member of the country group, Dixie Chicks. The group was red hot at one time and a fan favorite. But unfortunately for the group, they allowed their politics to get in their own way.
Natalie bravely, sarcasm, took the chance in 2003 while in London, England, to criticize then-President George W. Bush and the impending war in Iraq. This little protest cost the group much of their momentum and fans. In 2020 the group got “woke” and dropped the Dixie from the band’s name, becoming The Chicks.
The couple would welcome two sons into the world during their time together. Jackson Slade Pasdar was born in March 2001 and Beckett Finn Pasdar was born in July of 2004. Unfortunately, Adrian and Natalie were not meant to be.
Natalie filed for divorce in 2017, and in 2019 it became finalized. The two-year delay was due to Adrian contesting a prenup and pleading poverty in order to win spousal support. It is worth noting, and character telling, that the actor “only” brought in around $400,000 of income in 2018.
A Change in Direction
While football was much of Adrian Pasdar’s life throughout high school and into college, acting and writing were still passions he held onto from childhood. It would be a career-ending football injury while in college that would ultimately see Adrian find Hollywood success.
After leaving college, Adrian spent time with the theater group People’s Light and Theater Company. The actor would become injured while with the group and moved on to other projects. Soon after, at 19, Adrian Pasdar would land a role in one of the most seminal movies of the 80s – Top Gun!

Going big right out of the acting gate, Adrian was working alongside some of the biggest acting names of the time; Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Kelly McGillis. His performance in Top Gun propelled Adrian’s career out of the danger zone and into stardom!
Roles began to come in fast to the young actor, and he appeared in a number of movies throughout the 80s and 90s. Movies like Streets of Gold, Near Dark, Torn Apart, Carlito’s Way, and others, proved this ex-footballer had the skills to make a lasting career in Hollywood.
To further highlight Adrian Pasdar’s talent, the actor also has a couple of directing and writing credits to his name. The actor wrote and directed a little-known short film titled Beyond Belief and later directed the crime thriller feature film Cement in 2000.
Arguably the role Adrian is most remembered for is that of Jim Profit on the cult favorite Fox series Profit. The actor has also lent his voice to many Marvel animated movies and shows throughout the years.
You Never Know
Adrian Pasdar has proven that circumstances don’t always have to dictate where your life ends up. Nothing, absolutely nothing in life is easy, and there will always be something trying to derail you, but setbacks can be opportunities in disguise if you have the right mindset – clique, yes, but true! The one thing I would ask you not to do; do not claim poverty while making $400,000 a year!
