From the moment she set piranhas on boys who bullied her brother to the moment she hugged Enid tight in the last scene, we all fell in love with Wednesday Addams. And, thanks to Wednesday Adams, gothic fashion has made a comeback. Wednesday is definitely not a party person, however, Jenna Ortega, who played Wednesday to perfection, knows how to make an entrance at an event and be declared queen!
The Art of Turning Heads
Jenna Ortega graced the Golden Globes red carpet with her presence, and we are still in awe of the actor’s ability to juggle fashion. Whether it be pigtails and dark hues that give off a ‘Beloved’ vibe or pinkish brown hues that sing sweet lovely summer, Jenna has got it covered. The softer ensemble Jenna chose for the event was definitely a win, and netizens are already showering the star with comments of praise for her fashion choice.
“What drew me to this look the most is that it felt like enough of a departure from a lot of the darker looks I’ve been wearing lately,” Ortega says. Ortega’s choice is commendable, as it proves her potential to pull off looks that are poles apart from one another. Wednesday Addams definitely would have done a double take if she spotted Jenna in the ethereal pinkish-brown Gucci gown. With its pleated draping and ruffles and the soft tone that added a surreal glow, the gown was definitely a winner. A winning outfit for a winner! We cannot think of a better combo. (Well, perhaps Wednesday and Thing could compete.)
Whether it be life or fashion, balance is the key. Ortega’s attire managed to turn heads for the very same reason. The light and comfortable dress with its soft tones managed to keep up its element of intrigue with the metallic rings and the retro makeup. We are aware of the fact that Ortega is the owner of eyes that can tell stories (without even blinking), and the Sophia-Loren-inspired eye makeup was a brilliant addition that defined those killer eyes.
The jewels from Tiffany & Co. that the star paired with the attire were a final brushstroke of perfection that made Jenna Ortega one of the best-dressed celebrities of the night.
“The Tiffany jewelry I was wearing was really complementary to the look, so that—combined with false nails I never wear—made me feel like talking with my hands more than usual,” says Ortega, who we doubt is still in character.
While the star’s ensemble is a good example of the right blend of brilliant fashion choices, the final fairy dust of perfection was rendered by her astounding confidence, a trait common to both Ortega and Wednesday.
