Because summer is getting closer, plenty of ladies will be looking for new looks to don for them to be able to stand out from the crowd as they enjoy their vacations under the insular warm rays of the sun. out of the mini fashion trends that are available to try especially for hairstyles, there are very few that will make women stand out more than a passion twist.

Passion twists are very contemporary and they have not been around for long that is why people are still baffled by their uniqueness, the bohemian flair, and a very intricate look. So what exactly are they? How were they implemented, and how long do they last? Let’s find out now.

What Are Passion Twists?

A passion twist can be traced back to Miami of all places being introduced for the first time by a local hair stylist named Kailyn Rogers. Miss Rogers has gained a bit of a reputation for herself as a stylist because she is particularly good at Bohemian looks — something that is around her the nickname the Boho Babe. This hairstyle came about because her clients were becoming more inclined to hairstyles that look more natural and are easier to maintain while still looking very intricate and glamorous.

Rogers in fact mentioned that the style came to her naturally as if it were a gift from God. Come January 2018 she was able to debut the unique hairstyle on her Instagram — The unique new hairstyle immediately became a hit among women and went viral. Rogers saw her inbox get filled with requests from many women asking her to help them achieve the look.

How Do You Do Them?

For women who are keen on trying a bohemian look this summer, this hairstyle is ideal to give the look that much more flair. So now the question arises – how do you do them? These twists are installed in a very similar fashion as the other two-strand twists.

You have to make sure that your hair is washed, moisturized, and uninitiated. It may be a good idea to have your hair straightened before you try this on us because curlier hair may give you some difficulties.

Next, you section out your hair and work with smaller portions. These portions would depend on whether you prefer your twists to be thinner or chunkier. You partition each segment in a way that they look like an X. you then apply just a little bit of edge control gel over the braiding where the hair meets the scalp. The braiding must then be twisted in firmly and pulled.

How Long Do They Last?

As long as you maintain these twists with the right combination of hair products, you can expect them to last up to two months. You might want to give a slight touch-up for them every couple of weeks to make sure that the twists do not slip off, however. You have to make sure that these twists are not installed too long because they could start to damage your hair. About 10 weeks would be an ideal timeframe to keep them on.

The good part is that you do not have to worry about water because this style is relatively water-friendly. You can go swimming in them without worrying about ruining the look at all.

Maintenance Work

Just to make sure that you are able to keep the hair the way it is after installation you want to be able to incorporate the right setting mousse. You do not have to reapply the mousse every day but be sure to use it at least 3 or 4 times a week.

To make sure that you maintain this hairstyle even more thoroughly, however, you want to make sure that you incorporate a good spray-on conditioner so that the hair will retain its moisture. You also want to make sure that your scalp is clean before trying this hairstyle.

Sleeping with this hairstyle will require extra effort on your part because you want to toss your hair in a pineapple to make sure you do not unravel the twists as you twist and turn during the night. Sleeping with a bonnet or a cap will also really help with the upkeep of this hairstyle especially if you also use a satin pillowcase.

So that is basically all you need to know about getting a passion twist. The great thing about this look is that not everybody knows about them yet so you will be able to set the trend within your group of friends. This look is very light and is very dynamic so you will really enjoy having these installed for as long as they last. Try to talk to your local hairdresser about trying this look and you will be well on your way to truly standing out this summer.
