Everyone’s got a little bit of extra time these days! So why not introduce yourself to something new? Whether that be a new hobby or interest, Netflix is by your side. There are a bunch of amazing new Netflix titles that have just dropped and are definitely worth watching if you’ve got the time.
What To Watch On Netflix
If it’s one thing that Netflix knows how to do, it’s making its own TV shows. They really know what people want to watch and as a result, there are new Netflix shows coming out all the time! Here are some of the most recent Netflix originals:
Down To Earth With Zac Efron
That’s right. Everyone’s favorite teen heartthrob is back and better than ever. After starring in movies his entire life, he’s returning with a bang by releasing his very own new Netflix docuseries!
Released in July of 2020, Down To Earth with Zac Efron revolves around Efron as he travels around the world to different countries. Each episode revolves around a different theme such as sustainable living and green energy, nature, travel, and more!
The show has recurved overall positive views, earning a 74% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.2/10 on IMDb. It’s definitely a show to watch if you are looking for something lighthearted, yet still educational and informative!
Selling Sunset
If you’re a fan of real estate and HGTV, then you’re going to love Selling Sunset. Although there are plenty of reality home shows, this one takes it to the next level! It includes all of the behind-the-scenes drama of a high-stakes real estate company!
The Oppenheim Real Estate Group offers nothing short of the best listings for their clients. And the same goes for the drama that the viewers get from their show! After all, the girls are all competing for upwards of a 7-figure commission on some of the most luxurious houses.
It’s very clear that the Netflix show has received a positive reception. It has received recent praise after the second season was released in May of 2020, it has been renewed and a new season just hit the platform!
Too Hot to Handle
The title may be giving a little bit too much away with this one. Too Hot to Handle is one of those shows that make you feel like you shouldn’t be watching yet you just can’t seem to look away. Which is why I personally binge-watched the show in less than two days!
If you like dating shows and reality shows, then you’re going to love this one, because it’s a combo of both! Too Hot to Handle revolves around super-hot contestants sent to a gorgeous house on a tropical getaway for a month.
And get this, they’re not allowed to perform any intimate acts of any kind. Although it sounds kind of ridiculous, it is very entertaining to watch 14 hot people struggle not to make-out with each other!
Outer Banks
Breaking away from the trend of reality television comes Outer Banks. Outer Banks is a show that combines all of the qualities of a good binge-watching television show. It is considered to be a mystery teen drama.
Outer Banks follows a group of teenagers living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The show involves characters dealing with challenging issues such as drugs, friendship, money, and more.
The show has blown up since it’s release and has been the topic of many internet jokes and Tik Tok memes. It stars Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Madelyn Cline, and more! It’s definitely a must-watch for this summer.
Space Force
Steve Carell is starring in his first TV show since he left The Office almost a decade ago. Space Force is a comedy show that features a prime cast including Lisa Kudrow, Jane Lynch, and Fred Willard!
It centers around a team that is working on establishing the sixth brand of the Armed Forces, The United States Space Force. Similar to The Office, Space Force is considered to be a workplace comedy, that follows the small team in their daily work lives.
Although for some reason this show did not strike a chord with certain critics, it’s definitely a great show to watch if you’re interested in a lighthearted comedy. Carell has already mastered the art of the workplace comedy and it really shines through in this new Netflix series.
Next In Fashion
Queer Eye fans, this next one is for you. Fashion expert, Tan France, is branching out and as a result, is apart of a brand new Netflix show! France pairs up with the presenter, model, and designer, Alexa Chung, to bring a brand new reality fashion show to the table.
The show centers around 18 designers, who are competing for a chance at $250,000 and a chance to feature their designs in a collection with luxury fashion retailer, Net-a-Porter. The contestants are narrowed down through a series of rounds and challenges to determine a winner.
The Circle
This next one is perfect for those of you who are fans of a good a classic reality TV series. The Circle, however, has a perfect twist. Similar to Too Hot to Handle, it is a competition series in which the contestants are playing for a cash price of $100,000 dollars.
All of the “players” of the game are living in the same apartment building in solitude. They are only able to communicate with each other via a social media platform in which they have created profiles for themselves. Players are then eliminated based on their activities performed on the social media app.
The show itself has received an overall positive review online, earning 81% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.5/10 on IMDb. Critics are calling it Big Brother meets Catfish, so if you are a fan of either, then you’re definitely going to want to check out this new Netflix show!
