The recent ones which now star Tom Holland, Zendaya, Garcelle Beauvais, and Laura Harrier are becoming a phenomenon, One actress in them, Laura Harrier, is becoming a future star of Hollywood with amazing movie and TV show projects that she’s working on. Aside from Spiderman: Homecoming she also worked in Netflix’s show Hollywood in 2020.
How exactly did the young woman begin her career in Hollywood, and what is she working on now? Keep on reading below as we outline her career so far and her future in Hollywood.
Laura Harrier From Modeling to Acting
Just like many actors, Laura Harrier began in a different field, she originally wanted to be a model. While living in Chicago, she decides to move to New York City like many ambitious models to pursue a modeling career. Even though the plan was to come to New York for college she ends up doing modeling full time instead and captures the attention of some agencies.

Even though she caught the attention of fashion brands she knew her dream is s to become an actor. Harrier decides to join the William Esper Studio, which is a school for performing arts in Manhattan. Plenty of famous faces have worked with the studio such as Hulu’s Ramy star and comedian Ramy Youssef. Following her days in school, she works in a couple of school films but then begins to get more serious acting jobs.
Landing In The Marvel Films
Before getting her role as Liz Allen within Spiderman: Homecoming she worked on two tv series. One of these is the soap opera reboot of One Life to Live which leads her to get her job playing Liz in the famous Marvel movies. Unfortunately, her role as Peter Parker’s crush didn’t last as she didn’t return for Spiderman: No Way Home. Harrier doesn’t continue working in the films as she had another exciting project to work on at the time of filming for Spiderman.
One of these films is Spike Lee’s BlacKKKlansman in 2018, which she took without hesitation. Harrier admits she was on vacation when Spike Lee calls her and asks her to be in the film. After the phone call with the famous director, she jumps on a plane to New York and auditions for the movie, which she eventually lands. BlacKKKlansman which was nominated for an Academy Award is about racism in the 1970s in the U.S.
Laura Harrier Fashion Campaigns
Aside from acting, Harrier uses her modeling experience and even worked in some Louis Vuitton campaigns. Aside from the campaigns, she wears Louis Vuitton on red carpets such as the wrap gown she wore at Cannes Film Festival. Also, she is a brand ambassador for Bulgari which she is seen wearing on a couple of red carpets. Working as a model for years and being an actor you get to show off your fashion skills on red carpets, and Harrier is always best dressed.

During an interview with Instyle, she explains why she enjoys fashion so much. “I’ve always loved dressing up. It’s probably part of the reason I became an actress. Clothing can help you tap into so many emotions.” She says. Harrier even has ended up on some best-dressed red carpet lists by editors and fashionistas too. Harrier has even graced the covers of Marie Claire, InStyle, Wonderland, and more.
Upcoming Films and Releases
As we mentioned, Laura Harrier worked on Netflix’s show Hollywood In 2020, but there’s no word on season 2 yet. The show is about actors trying to make it in Hollywood in the 1940s following the war. Harrier also stars in the show with some famous names such as Darren Criss, Jim Parsons, Queen Latifah, and more. You can binge season 1 right now to watch her scene-stealing role in the show.
Some future projects that she is working on are a sci-fi movie with Tom Hanks called BIOS and an upcoming Netflix comedy, The Starling which stars Melissa McCarthy.
