Every year brings a new wave of trends that rule the spotlight. At the moment, graphic eyeliners have taken over the beauty domain, and we are all in awe!  People have begun to experiment with their eye makeup, whether it’s bold, brightly coloured simple eyeliner or tiny designs on their eyelids. The floating crystal eyeliner goes best with a basic nude makeup look. The trend has already become a celebrity favourite and quite naturally bagged the top spot on social media.

What is the Floating Crystal Eyeliner Trend?

The floating crystal eyeliner is all about creating a 3D graphic eyeliner design using rhinestones or crystals. With coloured or black eyeliner on, you apply rhinestones to the eyeliner. As stated by the celebrity makeup artist, Pat McGrath, the rhinestones should be stuck properly on the eyelids because you do not want them all over your face.

Celebrities Who Are In Love With The Trend

Taylor Swift

The floating crystal eyeliner was already in trend, but when Taylor Swift tried it for the MTV Music Awards in 2022, it got a different kind of hype altogether. Taylor Swift’s look was created by none other than Pat McGrath. Along with her rhinestone dress, the floating crystal eyeliner was just perfect. This was carried out in the form of the years-old cat-eye eyeliner look.

To ace Taylor’s look, all you need is some drawing skills and patience. To get started with the look, draw a bold wing with your eyeliner, and always go for black. And now it’s time for the rhinestones to elevate the look. Make a V shape with the rhinestones, and polish off the look by applying a silver eyeshadow in the outer corner of the eye.

Camila Cabello

Not just Taylor, but Camilla Cabello was also seen rocking this hot eyeliner trend. As usual, Cabello paired the look with her unmatched confidence. If you were bewitched by Cabello’s gold and silver floating crystal eyeliner, then it’s time to recreate it.

Begin with some base makeup; for a dramatic glow, apply blush to your cheekbones and eyelids. And for this look, we are steering clear of highlighters. Now, unleash the agility of your hands and draw a very thin line with basic black eyeliner, followed by golden eyeliner on top of the eyelid. Once you have your lines in order, start sticking the rhinestones on the golden line. In case the rhinestones are too small, apply two lines of them to cover the golden eyeliner. Add finishing touches with a few dots here and there, and voila! You have aced Cabello’s gorgeous look.

Gigi Hadid

It goes without saying that Gigi Hadid is a queen when it comes to fashion. There is a reason why she is one of the most sought-after models in the world. The floating crystal eyeliner trend caught the fancy of Gigi as well. She paired the pink and purple eyeliner look with a lavender satin dress, and we cannot help but be in awe of this goddess who juggles fashion with the ease of a breeze.

Other Eye Makeup Trends

A Pinch of Glitter

What is life without a little bit of glitter? It is therefore not very surprising that one of the trending eye makeup looks is all about glitter. Highlighter is a major part of this look. Also, make sure you have your coloured glitter eyeshadow on hand. Bold fashion is back in vogue, and the glitter eye exudes an unbeatable bold charm.

Classic Smoky Eye

Trends might come and go, but the “smoky eye” is here to stay. What better way to get your eyes talking than a dramatic smoky eye? All you need to ace the look is some dark eyeshadow to define your eyes, kohl, and jet-black eyeliner.
