American Eagle and Hollister are two very different brands when it comes to designs and store quality. Walking into a Hollister store, the lights are dim and it has a very calm vibe about it whereas AE is more upbeat. One reason people go back and forth with these brands is that they both sell really good jeans. Everyone’s experience with Hollister jeans versus AE is different of course, and they fit differently for everyone.

Due to this, there is always a conversation over which brand is better, and who has better jeans. That’s why we decided to take a look at each brand and look at the difference between each brand’s denim to help you understand which one is better suited for you.

Hollister and American Eagle’s Audience

One thing you have to keep in mind when deciding between the two brands of jeans is who their targeting. The reason the demographic is important is that they might not be designing clothes for your age range or sizing. American Eagle designs clothing for young adults/college students who are between 18-30, where Hollister is leaning towards teens. If you ever shopped Hollister jeans you’ll notice they might run small that’s because they are targeted at smaller teenagers.

For young adults who are curvier, American Eagle jeans might be better. Jeans that are designed for teens might not bring as much stretch or fit those with big curves. The reasoning behind this is, 13-18-year-olds will have different body types and needs than 20-25-year-olds.

AE & Hollister Jeans Durability

A very huge part of shopping for jeans is worrying about durability. Many of us have experiences where we shop for jeans and after a couple of washes the color fades and the material doesn’t last. This is especially true if you shop within fast fashion brands since the quality is not so good. When it comes to American Eagle jeans many of their customers say that the jeans tend to last them, especially after a few washes.

If you want something that is going to stay lasting a good amount of years then get some AE jeans. When it comes to Hollister there are mixed reviews of them lasting long, so our best bet when it comes to durability is to stick to American Eagle!

Differences In Pricing

One big topic that comes up when shopping for jeans is pricing, nobody wants to buy jeans that are too expensive. We all have a certain budget we want to uphold as well as a certain price range to stick to. After looking at durability, we want to make sure that we are getting the right products for the right pricing. AE and Hollister have pretty similar prices, between $45-90 which is the average price for jeans.

Also, both brands have really good sales where you buy their jeans for under $20! It seems that both brands are worth the price, but because AE jeans are known to be longer-lasting they might be more worth your money. On the other hand, if you try out Hollister jeans and like their style you can get them on sale, they currently also have a sale going on. Lastly, both brands also have great coupons to use, so sign up for their email newsletters too as a tip.

Which Brand Reflects Your Own Style?

One of the most important aspects of Hollister jeans versus AE jeans is the style. Both brands tend to young audiences but of different age ranges so the style is very different. When shopping for Hollister jeans you might notice the style of the jeans fits more so something your younger sister will wear. That’s because Hollister is selling for young teens as we mentioned, so their jeans might be more so for the Gen- Z kids.

Aside from this, you might enjoy the younger style anyway and prefer what’s trending with the teens, it’s all up to you. When it comes to AE the style might be more modern and more so fitting into what Millenials are into. Make sure to look into their style and see which one goes more with what your fashion tastes are. Also, the jeans should reflect the tops you wear with them too.

What we mean by this is, if you are into blouses and classier tops, then the jeans from one brand might not reflect that. Whereas, if you have a more laid-back style, you will find good choices in American Eagle.
