When it’s cold outside, there are two things that can warm you up…a shot of Fireball and a fireplace. It’s a good thing that NYC provides hundreds of bars for you to take a shot. The only thing you need to find is the fireplace or at least somewhere cozy.

We found the coziest winter bars in NYC to help keep you warm this season. You might have to hop on the train or walk a few blocks, but it will be totally worth it. These bars will have you wanting to stay all night.

230 Fifth Rooftop Bar

I know what you’re thinking. It’s cold out so why would we want to go to a rooftop bar? Well, this rooftop bar is actually one of the coziest bars in NYC. During the winter, Fifth Rooftop Bar has cute igloos with heaters. You’ll be warm while having a fantastic view of the city.

This bar also does themed parties. If you don’t have holiday plans yet, head over to Fifth Rooftop for the hottest Christmas and New Year’s party. Get your tickets early. They tend to sell out fast.

Black Mountain Wine House

Head to Brooklyn for this cozy wine bar. Black Mountain has a fireplace and a farmhouse vibe. When you walk in, you’ll believe you left the city and walked into a home in Vermont. Enjoy wine tasting and snacks during the week or choose this bar as a date spot. We love the displays of wine bottles around the place for an upscale feel.

The Flatiron Room

MAGE

The Flatiron Room has hundreds of varieties of whiskey! If that doesn’t warm you up, we don’t know what will. This bar is planked with 100-year old reclaimed wood for a vintage vibe. You’ll be put at ease with live jazz shows and comfort food like mac ‘n cheese. The Flatiron Room will definitely relax you.

LIC Bar

Much of New York’s history is in Queens. LIC Bar includes 100 years of history in its walls. You’ll get an antique wood bar, original tin ceilings, and brick walls. It also includes a fireplace to keep you warm and cozy while enjoying your single-malt scotch or crafted cocktail. You can stay inside or head outdoors to their heated garden for more privacy.

Left Hand Path

If you just want a night out with friends around a fire pit, Left Hand Path is the place to go. Order the hard cider to get into the holiday spirit or have a beer drinking contest with your friends. This bar is super chill and cozy. You might need to bring a cushion for the wood-plank benches, but it’ll be worth it.

Achilles Heel

Achilles Heel is a cozy neighborhood tavern with a beautiful fireplace and piano. Go for the drinks, but stay for the food. Make sure you bring an appetite as they smoke and braise a whole chicken on a wood-fired grill. We recommend the Achilles special drink, Alone Together. It mixes tequila and beer for a mouth full of flavor.
