The holiday season is here and all I know I want to do is snuggle up on my couch and watch movies. When the weather is brisk and it gets dark at 3:30 pm (seriously, WHY), the best thing you can do for your mental health is to pop on a film and relax.
Now that it’s December, it’s socially acceptable to watch Christmas movies every single day. I mean, if you started watching them in November, we can give you a pass. We get it. You’re excited. We are too!
Hallmark Hype
While there are a plethora of beloved holiday movies to choose from, this list is going to cover a special brand of Christmas movies. That’s right – Hallmark movies. Yes, the greeting card manufacturer that decided a tv channel was also needed.
Among the many iconic Hallmark movies, I’m definitely referencing the royal family “biopic” movies. Their Christmas movies are a different breed.
Hallmark Christmas Queen
Canadian actress, Brooke Nevin, has truly outdone herself. While she has boasted a consistent body of work since she became an actress as a teen, she is probably most known for her Hallmark movies
In the span of three years, she has starred in four Hallmark Christmas movies. Miss Nevin has been booked and busy, and we’re here for it. Collect your check!
Down below we’ve compiled a list of Brooke’s top Christmas Hallmark hits for you to check out. If you’re in the mood for feel-good vibes and Hallmark fluff, you’re in the right place.
1. Jingle Around The Clock (2018)
Nevin stars as “Elle,” an executive who is looking forward to the holiday season with her friends and family. However, a conflict arises when Max, her co-worker who she has a crush on, applies for the same promotion Elle is up for.
A little predictable, cheesy as you can imagine, it’s a fluffy christmas movie sure to fill you up with holiday cheer.
2. The Christmas Cure (2017)
If you’re in the mood for a more family-themed drama, I suggest the Christmas Cure. Nevin stars as an emergency room doctor who returns home for Christmas to her family to find out her father has retired.
She reunites with her high school boyfriend and has the best Christmas ever, which makes her decision of moving back to her hometown and taking over her father’s business that much more difficult. Again, fluffy, heartwarming, and a solid Christmas vibe.
3. Journey Back to Christmas (2016)
If you want a time-traveling Christmas flick, well I’ve got a recommendation for you. Journey Back to Christmas tells the story of a WWII era nurse in 1944 who wakes up in 2016 and meets a man who shows her the true meaning of family and Christmas.
It’s honestly a banger. It’s like fanfiction come to life. Probably the best movie out on this list, if you ask me. It stars Candance Cameron Bure, known most famously as DJ Tanner from Full House, Oliver Hudson, and of course, Brooke Nevin.
4. On the Twelfth Day of Christmas (2015)
Nevin stars as Maggie who is excited to show her long time crush, Mitch, the magic of Christmas when he moves back into their home town.
I like to think it’s a take on The Grinch, frankly. Inevitably, they fall in love in their jolly hometown that looks like it belongs in a snowglobe. It’s a feel-good flick that boasts Christmas as one of its main characters.
Relaxation Ready!
All of these movies are available to stream on the Hallmark Channel, as long as you enter your TV provider. They are also available for rent on Amazon.
We hope this list helps you get into the holiday spirit. Grab some hot chocolate and settle down with a movie, and get cozy.
