Truly Young is the daughter of music mogul Dr. Dre and his ex-wife, Nicole Young. They met while both attending Howard university. Her mother is a former fashion model and her father is an award-winning recording artist. She grew up listening to hip-hop music and rapping along with her dad. At age 16 she began writing songs and performing live. She released her first mixtape titled “Life In The Ghetto” in 2013. This was followed by three additional mixtapes, “The Truth,” “I’m A Hustla,” and “Ain’t Nothin’ To Lose.” She signed with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2016.

She got her name from her dad, who named her after her favorite song, “True Love Waits.” But it wasn’t just any old love song — it was the ballad sung by Linda Ronstadt about true love waiting patiently.
“I’m really proud of them because they are very supportive of me,” she told ABC News. “They’re very encouraging and loving, and they’ve been there for me since day one.”
Her mother, Mary Ann, added, “We’re both very proud of our daughter. We’re very happy that we raised such a wonderful child.”
And while Truly is now a full-time student at Stanford University, she still gets recognized everywhere she goes.
“People ask me where I go to school every single day,” she said. “I think it’s funny because I feel like I’m actually older than most kids my age.”

Truly Young Studies At A Prestigious University
Truly Young, the Gen Z celebrity child was admitted into USC’s prestigious school of cinema arts in May 2019. The year she received admittance into the university, her father, Dr. Dre caused quite the controversy.. Truly was accepted into the university without any trouble. Her father posted a picture showing how proud he was of his daughter.
He was referring to Lori Loughlin, who was arrested in March 2019 for allegedly bribing university officials to admit her daughter into an elite college.
Later, though, some reports stated that Dr. Dre, too, along with fellow music mogul James “Jimmy” Iovine, had contributed $70 million to the university in 2013.
