Sports fans are witnessing a golden age in female professional boxing. Just a generation ago, the idea of two women boxers slugging it out for a major championship before a sold-out area with millions more watching live on TV worldwide would have been a thing of fiction. But it has become a regular occurrence.

Over the last 12 months, pro boxing and combat sports followers have watched on as the best female talent has battled against sexism for fairness in a male-dominated industry for more than 100 years. These brave boxers don’t just put their bodies and safety on the line for personal gain or the admiration of fans but to inspire women everywhere. The female world champion is a sign of how far women have come in sports, but there’s more.

Major online sportsbooks have noticed that progress. The apps known for offering Las Vegas Super Bowl odds 2023 have ramped up their boxing coverage. This allows fans to make predictions, place bets and target a profit. All you need is a strong understanding of women’s boxing, the recent form shown by the best fighters, and the options available when making predictions.

Cream of the crop

Who is your favorite boxer? You may be a big fan of the work done by all current champions or need more information. If you aren’t up to speed on the goings on from the world of female boxing, there’s a lot to catch up on, but fear not. This article presents the best of the best. The main attraction for fans of women’s boxing and the bout we all want to see in 2023.

The most famous names in women’s boxing include Katie Taylor, Claressa Shields, and Amanda Serrona. The Irish-born fighter Taylor ranks as the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet, and her recent form means few with a passion for the sport disagree with that call. KT hasn’t put a foot wrong since making her professional debut in 2016, winning multiple world titles since.

If you are a sports fan – or love to see females make a huge impact in a traditionally male-dominated environment, we highly recommend you watch Taylor in action. You’ll find footage of her most outstanding performances online. But who will she face next, and where will this potentially career-defining fight take place?

A quick look at her professional boxing record shows the bout we want is fast approaching, Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano. Whispers about a match-up circulated for months before confirmation arrived, creating excitement. Where can you watch the fight, and who will be crowned Queen of boxing? We explain all in our preview.

Taylor v Serrano preview and prediction

Taylor will fight Serrano in a winner-takes-all world title fight on 20th May. Four versions of the lightweight world title will be on the line, with the victor recognized as the best female boxer on the planet and the greatest ever. Taylor is the early betting favorite, but fans already know nothing can be taken for granted in this sport, especially with a place in history at stake.

Taylor brings a professional record of 22 wins from as many bouts, with all but six of those victories coming on the scorecards. The 36-year-old from Bray holds all four titles in her possession, including the WBC and IBO straps. She has earned them the hard way, but will KT keep hold of her prizes?

The champion enjoys home advantage for her bout against Amanda this spring. The Irish capital of Dublin provides the backdrop, and the titles will be won over the scheduled 10-round distance or earlier.

She’s the real deal

Does the challenger have any hope of dethroning the champion? Everyone connected to Team Serrano certainly thinks so, and the Puerto Rican-born fighter travels to the Emerald Isle, intent on spoiling the party.

Known as “The Real Deal,” Amanda brings a professional record of 44 wins, two defeats, and one draw. The vastly more experienced fighter is out for revenge after losing a split decision to Taylor in New York last year. That was a bitterly close fight with little between the gladiators.

The home advantage is expected to give Taylor the edge needed to complete the double over Serrano, and we’re picking the champion to win on points again.
