Sam Esmail is an American writer and television series creator who helmed the hit series Mr. Robot. He graduated from YU’s Tisch School of the Arts and then attended the American Film Institute’s directing program, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts. In 2008, he wrote his first feature screenplay, which was selected for the Black List. In 2011, he directed his first feature film, “Mr. Robot,” which was released on the IFC cable network.
