All the A-listers are gathered in the fashion heaven for Paris Fashion Week 2023, and already the star-studded event is leaving glittery details that you cannot miss. The celebrities might not be walking the runways, but they sure are commanding the spotlight with their daring outfits. While some outfits left people open-mouthed in awe, others sent the remaining two brain cells into a frenzy. After all, applause and controversy are two sides of the same coin when it comes to any star-studded event.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner, as usual, graced us with a wild fashion statement. The beauty guru turned heads while attending this Schiaparelli show at Paris Fashion Week. Wearing a giant lion’s head attached to her for the daring look, the 25-year-old donned a fitted black strapless gown with a life-sized fake lion’s head across her torso. Kylie later took to Instagram to thank Schiaparelli designer and creative director Daniel Roseberry for letting her make a roar: “Beauty and the Beast, thank you for such a special morning. Wow, I love wearing this coat. Our creation was constructed by hand using man-made materials. Beautiful, beautiful,” Kylie penned.
While the look has turned quite a number of heads, we think that this is definitely not one of Kylie’s best looks. Take away the giant lion head, and the black dress is pretty ordinary. While simple is beautiful, one must not forget the thin line between subtle and bland. The lack of accessories is also striking in the wrong way. And honestly, we expected a lot more in terms of hair and makeup from the popular trendsetter.
However, the moment was made iconic not just by the clothes but also by the fact that somebody else donned the same outfit. Supermodel, Irina Shayk walked the ramp during Schiaparelli’s show wearing the very same faux lion headdress.
The reality star wasn’t the only celebrity who went all out for the show.
Doja Cat
Doja Cat arrived in a red-hot bustier and knee-length skirt, adorned with three thousand hand-applied crystals all over her face and body! The makeup artist behind the masterpiece, Pat McGrath, revealed that it took almost five hours to apply all the crystals. Talk about dedication.
“They’re just patience and commitment during the four hours and 58 minutes it took to create the look that #teamPatMcGrath and I which was covered in over 30,000 Swarovski crystals, which is truly inspiring. The final product was a magical, mesmerizing masterpiece and a tribute to Doja Cat’s hard work and dedication,” the artist wrote on Instagram.
How extra do you want to be? Doja said yes, and she slayed.
Ashley Park
Ashley Park, a.k.a. Mindy Chen, had to show up in the most stunning gown because obviously she’s the star of Emily in Paris and had to put her best foot forward!
Layers of scallops covered Ashley’s gold dress for the Rahul Mishra Haute Couture show. The halter-style neckline of the gown reached Park’s navel, giving it just enough sexiness. The dress was covered in scalloped fabric that sparkled and led to a textured train. I mean, does it even get more glam than this?
Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega wore a hooded black gown to the Saint Laurent menswear show. Her “Wednesday” character’s style was reflected in the dark YSL dress, while Ortega’s gold bangles and side-swept hair added a touch of glitz. Miss Adams absolutely slayed this look, leaving everyone spellbound. I just love how the fabric wraps and falls on her. The gothic vibe becomes her!
Lucien Laviscount
At the Louis Vuitton show, Lucien Laviscount wore both pants and a skirt! This silhouette is something beyond imagination. The silky material of his bottom was in stark contrast to the short sleeves of his graphic-tee-style sweater. This completely overturned the gender bias in clothing.
The bottom half of the outfit looked like an elevated skort because it had pleated pants and a skirt with an asymmetrical hemline. And the color! Omg! Absolutely delicious!
Noah Cyrus
This Cyrus sibling, like her sister, does not fall behind in the fashion game. Noah showed up in an absolutely gorgeous “out of the box” gown. The chest and hemline of the patchwork garment were covered in textured fabric, and the bodice and skirt were made of various shades of fabric. The silhouette of the gown accentuated the many tattoos Cyrus has on her arms and shoulders.
And the dress has pockets! Isn’t that something we girls love? And look at the bleached brows! Omg! The makeup looks stunning with the eyebrows. I think it’s the perfect balance between feminine and edgy, just like her personality.
