Brooklyn Beauty Brands You Won’t Believe You Didn’t Know About

In a city with so many people and even more pollution, it’s important to use beauty products that will keep your skin clean, young, and fresh. That’s why it might be best to say ‘no way’ to harsh chemicals and ingredient names that we can’t pronounce.

All-natural, vegan, and organic beauty brands are popping up all over. And, NYC is no exception. There are dozens of local beauty start-ups that are gaining popularity for their all-natural ingredients and stunning results. Here are the ones from Brooklyn that caught our attention.

Raaw By Trice

The concept of this all-organic skincare line started when founder, Trice Angie Christiansen moved to NYC and began a healthy lifestyle of eating organically. She started to ponder on the fact that everything we put on our skin is absorbed into our bodies- so why would we consciously put harmful chemicals into our bodies with our daily beauty routines?

This epiphany sparked the Raaw concept and Christiansen began studying holistic medicines and all the wonderful remedies that can be made with natural herbs. Like us, she is a great believer that self-care is much more than just applying serums. It is an all-encompassing experience.

Mullein And Sparrow

Founder, Anit Hora grew up surrounded by the fundamentals of Ayurveda, which is an ancient system of medicine hinged on herbal medicines and plant-based healing.

And, long before the United States actually cared about what ingredients went into their skin routines, Hora began studying and experimenting with her own concoctions to create some miracle potions perfect for all skin types.

Now, Mullein and Sparrow is a top holistic brand offering luxury products to keep skin healthy and happy. Hora even has skincare lines available to target specific problems, such as oily skin. So, if you are looking to go all-natural and still get results, this is the brand you should be checking out!

Love + Sage

Love + Sage attracts attention with their all-natural lip balms created by founder, Sage Lehman, who was frustrated with the lip care products available to consumers.

As any NYGal would, Lehman decided since there wasn’t a lip balm on the market suited for her precious lips, the only thing to do was to make one herself. And, very generously she decided to share it with the public.

This all-natural lip balm is created with a base of coconut oil, beeswax, and plant-based oils. So, you know your lips will feel super smooth and ready for smooching.

Plant

PLANT is all about skincare for everybody. This all-organic vegan beauty brand does not cater to just one gender. And, it’s all plant-based (you probably could have guessed that from the name).

This skincare line has everything from body washes to facial mists to body oils to bath soaks. Seriously, this line is the epitome of self-care. They also have adorably fun names for all their products such as “Wakey Wakey”, “Wash Your Face”, and “Get It On”.

This is definitely a skincare line to try if you want to know exactly what you’re putting on your face. And, that your boyfriend won’t complain about using when he stays at your place.
