As an individual gal in a big wide world, it can often feel impossible to do anything to change the planet. Yeah, you can take your own cup when you pick up your skinny latte or opt for reusable feminine items like Bear & Moo’s sanitary pad every month, but it’s just a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the big businesses to make the most difference and save the world from major damage. By doing a bit of research, you can make sure you are using your spending power with companies that are involved with sustainable initiatives.

Some Gaming Sites Have Charitable Initiatives

If you’re someone who enjoys a bit of online gaming in your free time, you’ve probably never considered whether your activity is having any effect on the planet. After all, it’s not like you’re going out in a car and filling the air with exhaust fumes, is it? Still, there are ways to help Mother Earth through your leisure activity. This is because there are some entertainment companies that have pledged to use a portion of their profits for good.

Companies in the iGaming sphere must try various techniques to win customers over from their rivals. These usually include offers and promotions, but now a few companies are also setting themselves apart from the competition on ethical grounds. SkyCity’s sustainable strategy is a prime example of this. The New Zealand-based online casino donates some of its profits to various programs to benefit the community and the environment. These include projects like Million Metres Streams and Sustainable Coastlines.

Starbucks is Known for its Sustainable Practices

Starbucks is the biggest coffee company in the world, and it has managed to achieve this feat through decades of progress and innovation. It has famously kept up to date with developments in the environment and has done its part to ensure that its business is not having a negative effect on the planet.

Starbucks pledges to use sustainable sourcing and growing methods, and its coffee is 99 percent ethically sourced. The global behemoth also has initiatives in place to support farmers and share climate-resilient coffee trees.

Cruise with Hurtigruten

According to Worth’s sustainable company report, Hurtigruten is the second-best company in the world. The Norwegian cruise liner has been going for nearly 130 years, and it is now regarded as the most sustainable company in its industry. It has managed to achieve this through constantly innovating and incorporating new technology.

If you’re planning on going on holiday any time soon, you may want to consider how much of a carbon footprint you’re going to leave. Anyone conscious of saving the planet would find it prudent to eschew air travel wherever possible, so maybe the best option for a holiday would be to go on a cruise with a company like Hurtigruten. The brand plans to have its first zero-emission ship by 2030, as it continues to refine its sustainable approaches.

Planet-conscious companies don’t always make it into the mainstream news, so you need to do some of your own research to discover who’s making the most progress. You can have a greater effect on the future by choosing to spend with companies that employ sustainable practices.
