Here at NYGal, we love to keep up with the latest events happening in the city, and this month is one of our favorites. National Yoga Month brings us fun and exciting wellness events all around the city. With so many great ways to participate in yoga, there is no excuse for not breaking out the mat and letting go of some stress. This is how we celebrate National Yoga Month in NYC.

Astoria Yoga Crawl

People often forget how lively and diverse Astoria is. This Queens neighborhood is the perfect place to attend a yoga event. The Astoria Yoga Crawl, happening on September 22nd, is a 5-hour event with fun stops along the way. You will begin with meditation then head off to do some yoga. If you’re still a newbie at yoga, don’t worry; this session is beginner friendly. After a relaxing yoga session, hydrate with drinks to feed your fall cravings at Madame Sou Sou Cafe. Your final stop will be filled with restorative yoga and meditation. The best part about this event is that it is completely free! So no need to bring the wallet.

Yoga Unwined

Do you love wine and yoga? Well, great news! Yoga Unwined offers both at the same time! Enjoy a glass or five of Rose’ during this yoga event. It offers a 45-minute class before an afternoon of wine tasting at the beautiful Rose’ Wine Mansion. You’ll leave with a peace of mind and an awesome swag bag of surprises. This is your chance to let go with your two favorite things. Tickets are going pretty fast, so don’t wait to get yours!

Doga With Anna Farkas

Bring your furry friend along to celebrate National Yoga Month with Anna Farkas. She’s a Brooklyn-based yoga instructor who loves dogs as much as she loves yoga. That’s why she combined the two. Now, you can practice doga, a session that involves you and your dog. Now you don’t have to choose between your yoga class and spending time with your favorite animal. Doga helps you achieve harmony with your dog and also teaches obedience. Help your dog relax with a private session with Anna.

Yoga At The Battery

It’s finally cooling down in NYC. So, why not take your yoga class outdoors? The city is filled with beautiful parks and amazing instructors. Yoga At The Battery is an hour class on the Woodland Lawn. It overlooks the fountain and Lady Liberty. Take advantage of this free class offered twice a week and then explore the park afterward. Mats are provided, so you don’t have to lug yours on the train. Just don’t forget your water bottle!

Rooftop Yoga

Are you afraid of heights? Neither are we! We love to climb the highest buildings and set up our yoga mats for a great view. This rooftop yoga class overlooks the Empire State Building and Madison Square Park. You can’t get better than that. End national yoga month with a bang, on September 27th. Round up your favorite girls and get moving. We’ll see you there!
